Any nicer hotel will gladly do housekeeping in the afternoon or even later if you ask them to.

In the past, Bellagio housekeeping came in twice, in the morning and evening. Always was a nice feeling to come back to your room at night with the bed freshly made, shades closed and the bed lights turned on. But they might have changed that.

I would never do this. I think its essential to have house keeping in there daily. To get fresh towels, to empty the trash, clean the toilet.

I almost always prefer that the housekeeping doesn't come in regardless. I always tell them no service and put DND. On my door and they usually knock loud and wake me up anyway. So annoying, who needs a new towel every day? It would be great if they would respect my wishes and even credit me for doing so.

I just did three nights at Vdara and two at Aria...no offers. Didn't ask about them either...I was content already with the credits back from AMEX for the $300 spend ($60 back) and the transportation to and from the airport that Vdara provided.

That's been my experience as well.

We're in and out quite a bit during the day so usually we get our room done at night after going to dinner (7-10pm). I just call down before we leave and they say no problem. I've called housekeeping as late as 11pm before and there were no issues.

More toilet paper? Clean the toilet? What kind of disgusting ****s are you people taking where this is a concern?

are you saying you don't clean your own toilet at home daily?

would be saying exactly that...with one person, outside of some sort of explosive diarrhea or (for guys) an inability to hit the bowl, all that should typically be needed per day is the ability to flush.

This is too funny! Virtually every hotel room comes with an active and backup roll of TP, and WTF is going on if you need to clean the toilet during a typical 3-5 day stay?

I travel about 45 weeks per year for work, and all of the Marriott Branded and SPG (Westin / Sheraton) hotels that I stay at give extra points for not taking maid service. It's pretty standard in the travel industry now - hotels know how to make it work, and I assure everyone here it's not by withholding towels and toilet paper!

I'm staying at Caesars in about a week - will find out if they are rolling w/ this yet then.

In Vegas you want a clean toilet to rest your head on while puking your guts out every night.

Not everyone is a 20-something that believes a good time requires drinking to excess...

lol - Fair Point. Stay out of my room, but you may want to make friends with Guy Incognito, who has his cleaned at least once if not twice daily...

Flamingo is also currently doing $10/day food credit for forgoing maid service. The food outlets available are limited. I think this was all of them:

Cafe to Go
Garden Buffet
Center Cut steakhouse
2 Coffee shops

This was a fully comped room and the credit was still available.

I wouldn't- Aria has a charge for making the request and a charge for having it granted.

Wow, I wish this was retroactive...they'd owe me about $2k. I am always on DND in my room, generally opting for service once every 7 days. I'll look into this for my upcoming Bally's stay for sure.

Pro tip: if you like to do the multi-day DND thing, call housekeeping when you get into your room and tell them that you really mean it when you have the DND sign out, and not to knock in the mornings. They'll put you on some sort of 'they really mean it' list, and your chance of being woken up by housekeeping goes down significantly (though it's still non-0, which is annoying).

It appears that only CET, and not MLife properties, are offering credits for opting out of housekeeping service..

Please elaborate if you can. So they charge for the request and for granting the request (how much?), but then do you save money by not having house keeping? Are you saying the difference is negligible? I personally wouldn't forgo it, but when I travel with a particular group of friends; they are always very adamant about not having house keeping (they dont gamble much; so its not like they are worried about their roll or anything; so its kinda odd).

I stayed at Rio and asked for housekeeping credit. They said they'll check if it's available, and then said that it's been suspended until after the WSOP. I guess slovenly poker players don't deserve credit.

I asked about this at Planet Hollywood, and they said no

It's pretty sad that Aria (and other Vegas hotels) are so ridiculous these days, that people don't get a joke anymore.
