Good place to watch Thursday Night football? Good place to watch Thursday Night football?

I'm looking for a place to watch the game tonight, preferably close to Ballys/Paris, but audio is a must. There are 11 of us, 21-65, so nothing too clubby for the older folk.

I was going to scope out that new roofdeck place at Paris later this morning to see how it is. I have Blondie's as a worst-case backup. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Tilted Kilt and Yard house are both on that strip near the ferris wheel, between The Flamingo and Linq.

In that walkway by the linq where the yardhouse is, there's a bar called American which was pretty cool. Lots of tv's and a nice open atmosphere. Nice staff too

We had originally planned to go to yardhouse but ended up staying at American, it was a much better football watching joint

Never been to that Beer Park place at Paris but I would think they have tv's there.

I think sticking to tourist bars or Strip sportsbooks is best. Tonight is first game for Vegas Golden Knights. You may end up somewhere that shows that prominently over the other games away from the casinos.

That's a great point. We're probably not gonna find a place putting on sound for the game then, so it doesnt matter too much.

I doubt there will be much interest in VGK at places like the Bally's sportsbook. It is a decent size too. I would just go there. You may also run into MLB playoff conflicts when it comes to sound but typically TNF will beat that in terms of demand.

Interest in MLB might be relatively high tonight, the Dodgers play and some tourists from California will be in town already for the weekend. Especially people working for the federal government and banks who are off on Monday for Columbus Day.

The new sportsbook at the Linq has "Fan Caves" (a couple couches and recliners with 4 or 5 screens to watch) that look pretty cool. You'd need to get two of them, not sure what the minimum required food/booze tab would be for a Thursday night but it can't be too bad.

We came to Beer Park. A little pricey but it's really nice up here. They're playing the NFL sound until the knights start up so it's all good. Thanks for the replies.

Except for the ridiculous 4.9% CNF fee that Beer Park surprises you with.

TY for that.

When I am town and want to see any of the football games, I go play at the Golden Nugget downtown.

They have enough TV's so you can easily watch and play at the same time, free drinks, and an OK chair.

TY.

A concession charge paid by the retail business (presumably to their local tax collector based on the assessed value of their leasehold interest) is one of their many costs.

Like water and insurance and napkins and rent and equipment repairs.

Business owner: "I know! Let's have separate charges on guest checks for all that stuff too!"

I agree with the cited article, why should customers go there?

Like sales tax. That was originally a tax on businesses for the privilege of being able to run a business in a town/state. They just passed it on to customers.

All extraneous costs of running a business are passed on to customers.

If they weren't passed on, the business would not make a profit, and eventually close.

When you hear "let's tax something" be well aware of who eventually pays the tax.

Hint: Look in the mirror.

Except that everyone knows and expects to pay sales tax, and they know where it goes. Hiding this CNF charge in the tiniest of tiny print at the bottom of the menu is the very definition of a deceptive business practice.
