Maybe. I doubt it, but maybe. In any case, I hear variations on this all the time from self-declared higher limit players and NL players. My assertion stands.

Who gives a crap about respect? Raise to get chips in the pot when you've got an equity edge.

Fine. Then don’t move up to where they respect your raises. Stay at the lower limits and take bad beat after bad beat.

You should move up to where they still don't respect your raises.

EZ game.

I'm a LHE player and frequently people get the misconception that you can't lose money at LHE because the bet size is limited. And if I'm playing against them I won't correct them because NL players who get sucked out on and go play oversized LHE games thinking it's lower variance are very profitable for LHE players. But you guys are cool and I'll tell you the truth - LHE is super swingy.
No apology's needed Calli, lol.
I used to play limit too, ( wasn't that clear from what I wrote?),like I'm sure most of the older players on the forum.
One can lose even more in limit. Like you said, it's even more swingy.
It's a misconception that limit is somehow safer' It is and it isn't.
You're dealt more hands per hour and if you run bad in limit, those bets add up.
You can lose a buy in easy in one session, just losing multiple would be indeed an achievement that I hadn't ever accomplished, oh well.
