Usually when people post about closed rooms it's for nostalgic value.

Poker pro is one of those jobs like (female) porn star where from the outside it seems like a great way to make an easy living, but then once you actually do it you become aware of all the negatives and realize why people are always telling you not to do it.

As for table selection in Vegas, sure there aren't rooms with 100+ 1/2 or 1/3 players in the same room, but the bigger rooms definitely have enough tables that you can table select easily. Caesar's 1/2 almost has 100 players during the WSOP anyways. Of course if you play at like Mirage, Bally's or Rio not during WSOP, then you're out of luck. But why would you play at those places?

While Caesars may have the most tables going that doesn’t make it the best place to play - necessarily. There may be more local grinders going there for certain reasons (lower rake and higher comps) than other CET properties.

I can say that the best games I played in last summer were at Bally’s. The games I am dealing this summer at Harrahs are spectacular. Like I want to quit and jump in games good.

I know of several regs who beat the games handily. I’d be surprised if my one friend wasn’t at better than $50/hr at Harrahs in June. He plays some 2:5 at other places but he chooses to play ALOT at Harrahs 1/2.

All you have to do is your research and walk around and look at games. If you don’t find a good one at Mirage, walk across the street. If it isn’t good at Harrahs, Flamingo might be.

If you aren’t winning, you aren’t trying.

Yeah I haven't considered places in the center strip like Harrahs. Always thought those places and Bally's were **** rooms. Maybe they aren't so **** cause grinders prefer the bigger rooms. But they're still 1/2 and have stupid promo rake.

Caesar's used to be awesome cause it was $4 max rake. Now it's meh and definitely attract a lot of local nits cause of the same reasons that attracted me - double tier/reward points and no promo rake.

I tend to agree with this. Especially since I don't have aspirations higher than 2/5. I just want to be a winner through retirement. I see value in trying to beat bad games so I can always play even though there may only be a couple of tables going. By bad games I mean with OMCs and nits. Not games with super aggro young whippersnappers 3 and 4 betting me to death.

Well, I'm losing weight right now. Side effect of being Keto is becoming judgemental. I'm trying to fight it but it's tough. So, opponent being super fat tilted me as much as the poker talk.

Assuming it was a "he" when I specifically stayed gender neutral? This may have been one of them non-binary type situations, lol. Like Pat from SNL but with a dose of pig DNA mixed in. I need to meditate more...

Something along the lines of, "id be a pro but you don't always win a lot of money. Like, sometimes I win $500-$600 but other times I only win $100-$200 so it's just not worth it. I just play for fun but sometimes I think about just playing full time because it's so easy."

Then proceeds to call my 6x open with J6o and less than $100 in its stack. But whatever, I'm the donkey that paid 3 streets.

I'm surprised bikeking isn't on this thread more frequently. His part time job must be taking a lot out if him. Not to mention living in a car has got to be demoralizing after a while. Losing your bankroll. Working at a hot air balloon place. Living in a car. Surely he knows by now that he's a long way away from "living the dream".

Good thing he doesn’t! That post is almost as depressing as BKs life!

Maybe he's not that far away from living his dream again. He was living his dream with a 20k roll I believe when he started. And he's got another job working for pokernews now. So maybe 6-12 months from now he'll have that starting roll back and will be back in action.

Based on his past of being extremely frugal even when he had a high-paying job, I think he might be at an OCD-level of frugality that most people can't fathom. He started living in his car when he still claimed to have $40k. The anxiety about spending money is so high that the only way to not feel that anxiety is to spend zero on rent. Or maybe it's not OCD, maybe he just grew up in an extremely frugal family, or maybe he was heavily influenced by ideas on the internet such as LEANFIRE.

Anyway, there's nothing wrong with his life choice to live in his car. And it was his choice. It wasn't some desperate sad circumstance he was forced to do.

It's cool that he was just some random and a short time later he's met or hung out with all his favorite poker celebrities, he's been invited to big poker events, and now he has a WSOP media pass. That's not too shabby.

His job for poker news was only as long as the wsop and he said when it started it was actually only 8 work days

So BK is gonna just disappear? I mean the story of going back to Florida to rebuild would be a good one. I guess all those goals and stuff he just made were for not.

I hope he's alive and well. Just curious to find out what he's up to. It doesn't even have to be poker related. Hopefully he's just busy with a boring job that he doesn't feel is vlog worthy that puts money in his pocket.

"You have to know when to holdem and when to foldem"

Nothing wrong with folding.

Nothing wrong with folding the whole vlogging thing. Nothing wrong with folding projects within vlogs.

In limit holdem ring game, you're supposed to be folding 85% of your hands. These forums are filled with poker players yet they constantly criticize vloggers for folding projects (Trooper's keto, Kraut's weight loss challenge with the boss, Boski's challenge to buy that vehicle, etc.)

Yet Pareto's Law of 80/20 is the rule. 80% should be folded. Also, another limit maxim, this time from 7 Card Stud: "The earliest fold is the best fold." In other words, start small and test the waters cheap, and don't hesitate to get out early. But go full force once you decide to pursue. Play life tight-Aggressive.

My only hope is that if Bikeking calls it a fold, that he at least does a goodbye to let us know. But that's his call.

Would be nice if he did that. Also, a one year follow up/check in afterwards would also be cool. When you watch a vlog, you start to connect with the character you see. You get emotionally committed a little bit and in the back of your mind, you are curious to know what happened.

Rooting for you BikeKing!

I read a couple of times where he said his Instagram: bikeking19 is the best place to get updates. His vlog lists it as such, but it's not a link. Maybe someone with IG can link it.

I also hope that we hear from him, especially to know that he is ok. I feel like that in some ways he is part of our extended family and that we care for his welfare.

Something was off about this guy. I wouldn't be surprised if he had a mental break down of some sort.
