At this point I am not really sure what he could say. There are those who believe what he has said, those who are skeptical, and those who don't believe him at all.

I would prefer that we call that episode closed and that we move on. I hope that he can come back and tell us about his new adventures. I enjoyed reading them.

Well for one, he wrote a long article about it for poker news website and it was taken down for some reason. I imagine they told him why it was taken down.

We're not at the point of "believing or not" until there's a story that hangs together.

He could answer the questions raised about the bank statement.
Perhaps the bank really did send a statement riddled with arithmetic errors and formatting inconsistencies. If so, why stay silent?

Wait so everyone is assuming the $800 a day aviation job is legit?
So they are going to pay someone $80 dollars an hour who hasn’t worked in a year?
He has been able to earn that kinda money but would rather play 1/2 all this time? He said he made 20k on a tournament then said it was left for him, so he had no money saved other then that 20k from a job that could potentially pay that kinda money before he made the leap to Vegas?
None of this make any sense. I really root for the guy but I mean cmon.

Typical work days are 8 hours; so the math is $100 an hour. I really root for online critics but I mean cmon, that was simple math you ****ed up.

It's a spot contract job in a highly specialized field and likely is more than 8 hour days. This isn't really that much out of the norm. Think typical pay in this type of profession with certifications is $80K-$120K. Full compensation packages for jobs like including this medical, 401K, training other benefits puts cost per employee around $180-$200K. $800 day for related contract work seems right.

you also ****ed up

It pays about $30/hr.

This is not a "9 to 5" job. It's an overseas contract so you're literally working for about 3 weeks at a time. If a 3 week contract pays $15K, it comes out to about $30/hr.

a friend of mine when we were in college took a semester off to work in the oil rigs of Alaska on a contract job, he came back, spent all his money on furniture and a jeep, and never went back again (although it's prob a lot harder than installing ILS approach systems at airports).

It is legit, I know because I am the one trying to get it sorted.

I hope we can find something that works out, because A) we always need more people and B) it would be cool to help a fellow avionics/poker guy out of a bind.

BK's background in avionics is really what we're looking for here and I think the line of work would suit him fine. If we can't make an arrangement it will have zero to do with the banking issues or whether or not he lives out of his car.

@hello friends

I play poker as a pro and am quite skilled. I am also an avid hangglider pilot and hold my tandem instructor certification. I take people for tandem rides at my buddies place - its called wallaby ranch (check out wallaby.com). I have taken thousands upon thousands for rides over the years. I no longer log flights but have been into flying since 85 and have several thousand hours in hanggliders. I also fly microlights. I love aviation. I would gladly coach you in poker for NOTHING if you would hook me up with an 800$/day gig in aviation!!

Squid, for 800 you have to listen to morons all day long, not possible to put on a headset.

I think it's great you are trying to help the guy out. It may be just what he needs to kickstart his life. Personally I have seen many like him in life and he is anything but truthful. Not sure what he had to gain by making this stuff up but it clearly boosts his ego. He has 9 months total experience in aviation so I wouldn't call it much of a background. In previous posts he started he was blacklisted from the profession, yeah right. Many have played at the same tables with him here in Vegas and he doesn't have the demeanor or play of other pros around town. The guy went busto and now feels the need to fabricate this story for who knows what reason. Again I think it's great you are reaching out to him, will be interesting to see the excuse as to why he doesn't take you up on it.

No problem mang. I am an x-pirt at dealing with morans. I have been sick of gamboolin for a very long time and would absolutely love never having to set foot into a casino ever again.

I have been trying to get outta gamboolin for a really long time but can never seem to close the deal. Its funny cuz after black friday I told my wife that I had about 2 years of live gambool left in me. Yet here I am nearly 7 years later still slogging away. I am no longer pumping out the hours - as I really dont need to. But I still need to generate some income and am currently averaging 1k hrs per year.

LOL. Walt, you may have to work in some god awful place like Papua New Guinea, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, South Sudan. You "live" in a guarded compound, go to work in an armored convoy, can't reveal your precise location, and saying "take this job and shove it" is not an option. Now that's gambling!

Laying low after the bank statement deal, I'm guessing. If I remember correctly, he'll be finding out about that contract job at the end of the month. Although adhering to a job schedule to generate income, even during this time of need, didn't seem appealling to him.

What if they give him not just a car but a full-sized car for housing?

fwiw that wasn't a monthly bank statement. It was a screen shot from on online transaction summary report by date.

Because with every lie it gets more obvious. He is opting to say nothing as he knows anything he says will contradict something else and will be picked apart so easily.
