There's certainly going to be delivery vehicles and I'd assume VIPs will be able to use that option, too. With all the back roads it should be easily possible to access all resorts inside the perimeter from Flamingo.

They also need to be able to have emergency services enter and exist without much delay during the day.

They'll probably have 1000 security guards protecting the perimeter to make sure no drunk people wander off anywhere they're not supposed to be.

I doubt many regular tourists will be in Vegas that week because of the crazy prices but for everyone not paying for it the F1 experience will most likely be limited to loud noises and an absurd amount of inconveniences.
In the old days I bought a garage pass for like 4 bucks. I wandered all through the garage area and watched the teams work on the cars, BS'ed with mechanics, and got free souvenirs and stickers from some of the mechanics. There were hardly any other racegoers there.

I was going to make a joke that this must be Caesar's properties as MGM is still down, but you're right. Flamingo was over $700 a night at one point (with a minimum of 3 nights non-refundable) and is now down to under $150 a night

Also, it looks like MGM is back up.

That sounds appealing, but I don't like the idea of being "stranded" on the inside of the track. On the west side of the Strip many hotels have a back way out.

It could be legendary. You have people coming in paying $1,000/night for rooms, $2,000 grand stand tickets, $1,000 for a premium dining experience, it wouldn't be too crazy to think they might drop a few thousand at the poker tables for "the experience" and be happy doing so.

Hopefully by playing poker I can make the money back I spent by booking an absurdly expensive room at the beginning

Does anyone know what its like trying to get from the airport to the strip (Paris) during a crazy weekend like this? Flying in early Thursday afternoon.

You could go to a place outside of the track, like MGM (I think it's outside the track) or Westgate and ride the monorail to Paris.

People are going to have trouble moving hotel to hotel I bet. Staying at Bellagio, going to have a hard time getting to Wynn, etc.

If room rates and hotel rates have dropped that much then how many of those whales will actually be in town?

Edit: I can definitely believe the games will be much better than usual though.

Tens of thousands of rooms, there aren't tens of thousands of whales that want to watch F1 cars.

A construction worker died Saturday morning. I wonder when the workers will be back because they stopped working and weren’t there Sunday.

Also the area by the Bellagio fountains is a mess. People were so mad about the sidewalk being blocked off they were walking on Las Vegas Boulevard.

On the other side people were angry because they couldn’t want straight down to Las Vegas Boulevard and had to walk back up and around and again people were walking on the street.

Unless they are late for something people are just being lazy (walking is good for you anyway) but it sucks for anyone that has a disability.

The entire right lane was blocked off next to Bellagio when I was there last week.

There are lots of lights along the Strip too. Is it a night race?

Not sure what all the whingeing is about as all the 2+2 regulars that live in LV should be taking advantage of the weaker games.

Ugh. Wonder why they did that. It's not going to be hot in November.
