Headed to JFK now. Plan is to play in the final day 1 flight at the Wynn $600 today, then the Housewarming either Saturday (hopefully) or tomorrow if I don’t make the Wynn Day 2. Now that pictures are so easy an old can do it, thought I’d take a shot at my first trip report.

- The cage is at Paris, they don’t have a cage at Ballys and for now most MTTs are at Paris for now.

First break of Wynn $600 day 1c; 31.2k vs 25 starting stack. Nothing particularly noteworthy. 222 runners today and the already passed the guarantee yesterday.

I haven’t left the Aria much in ten years or so when I’ve been here. The Wynn is ****ing nice.

Since it's your first WSOP, allow me to advise you to go over the day before you plan to play. Not only to reg early, but to get the lay of the land (so to speak). If it's anything like the Rio, it can be a bit much to take in that first time.

Still around, level 7. Was up to about 70k then pissed away half of it w KJ in bb vs button AK on K high flop. Rookie mistake I thought the guy had like 15k and it was 35. Avg 44k.

3 mins. Before dinner break AK<KQs. Firing another bullet after a solo casa playa fiesta.

Second bullet wasted. Now safely ensconced at the 1-2-5 PLO game in wsop cash section.

GL this will be my first year too. I'm excited for you..

Day 1: -$1200 tournaments. -$600 cash. Wound up in an uncapped $5/5 big o at wsop that I had no business playing in. Whiffed on a flop I paid $400 for and realized my long day should come to an end. It was 9:30.

Checked in for todays flight in the housewarming and walked back to my room, which is a 15 min walk from the champagne room at the Paris event center.

Like clockwork, up this AM at 3:30 and showered and headed over to the Aria 1-2 PLO for what historically has been my most profitable few hours of every trip. 15 min walk from mt room. So far in for $800.

is there any mask or vaccine PROOF mandates with wsop?

My Wynn 600 was similar to yours. Doing okay until I ran into 2 pair (7's and 3's, lol) with my top pair for half my stack. The other half went when 2 crappy pair beat my overpair.

Ha. 32k at first break vs 50 starting stack. Been playing a lot of hands trying to hit flops and missing. Need to shift gears soon. This is fun though.

2nd break; exactly 100k.

Two hands of note:
1) I was PFR on button w AQ. A few callers. Flop JTx. My ~10k cbet gets raised all in for another 15k. I’d been fairly active having run my chips up to 60ish from earlier. Thinking there was a chance I had 10 clean outs and a chance he was making a play, I made the call. He had KT. Queen hits on turn.

2) AA in MP; tight solid senior local (had only played three hands the whole day; we’ve been next to each other the whole time) makes standard raise. I barely have him covered. I raised too small, almost a min raise. Flop xxx he checks I bet 12k. He calls. Turn x he checks I jam trying to appear weak. It doesn’t work and he folds QQ face up. My inexperience (this is basically my third live tournament) showed on this one. I guess I missed ~15k of value, which I should have bet.

I would have probably done the same with the pocket aces. I could be wrong, but I don't think that was a terrible play. I am enjoying reading this, keep it coming!

I agree, seems like your AA play was just fine. Now, just remember to do that when you don't have AA against this guy, since he'll fold big hands.

Of course, I'm the opposite of an expert, too.
