Do casinos/restaurants/stores currently allow face shield in lieu of masks?

Yes at casinos seen some people wear both though.

I don't think the virus cares if you wear only a face shield, regardless of what a casino may allow.

As for casinos, I think the ones I have entered require masks to be worn.

I would go to the Clark County health websit to see if it is currently allowed, but as mentioned above masks are pretty much mandatory now. Face shields for the most part only protect the person wearing it, not others from the person wearing it. Medical persons use face shields as an added protection from blood and other bodily fluids getting in their eyes and on their face. Typically they have a mask on as well. This info is basically right on the CDC site and other medical sites, not my opinion.

I frequently see ppl with no mask and "face shields" that are above the nose. PLenty others who take the mask off to talk. Normaly I would want idiots such as these at my table...

Face shields alone will not protect you. Sure if some nasty mother****er coughs coronavirus directly on to your face it may be better than nothing, but you're still breathing unfiltered air.

To answer your question, I did see several little shops with employees wearing only the face shield. I didn't see anyone in a restaurant or casino with just the shield though.

using a face shield against covid is like holding up your hand to stop a bullet.

Keep in mind if you're flying, face shields nor neck gaiters meet the mask requirement. Can't be one with a valve either.

Face shields by themselves do almost nothing to stop spreading or prevent catching Covid. That said, some casinos do allow face shields instead of masks. I think the reason is it's not worth the bother to get 100% mask compliance so they tolerate a few idiots with just face shields because most people don't realize they're nearly worthless and won't get upset. 100% masks is best but if 90% of people are wearing them the other 10% wearing nothing or face shields isn't going to be a big health problem.

Face shields combined with masks are great for health care workers because they often have to do their job within inches of someone's face who may at any moment cough or sneeze droplets right into their eyes.

Masks and face shields are meant to protect others, not you.

But wearing the shield to the casino screams fish so probably a good move.
