Sorry to hear about traffic woes. My wife is heading to strip tomorrow for a gals trip/Bruno concert.
I've been advising her to use the airport tunnel (Paradise Road) off of 215 to acccess the strip in a backdoor kind of way. The ongoing paving herre in Lv is sick. Between the Tropicana overhaul and the F1 repaving, its tough access everywhere.
Best way for you to MGM is Monorail.

So ... in world of flips and dog eat dog poker, I was wearing milk bone underwear.

X-Factor made it to day 2 with about 100k. Calm and I fired 2 bullets each. At one point, I had run it back up on second bullet to 48k but lost a final flip for 33k at 2.5k bb/ante to pocket 8s (I had KQ suited in CO).

Most of the semi pros who got knocked in mystery millions had shuffled down to MGM for final flight ... so MGM met 200k guarantee with 309 in last flight.

No real interesting hands of note. I played against a larger Teddy KGB doppelganger for most of second bullet. We mixed it up a couple times as he was position squeezing most of the recs and he's the only reason I got close to 50k on second bullet. We established a mutual respect on my 2nd double up that one of us was going to position squeeze/ raise and leave each other alone for the most part.

Funniest part of the play was over valuing small pocket pairs by recs. Shoving pre +20 BBs with pocket 4s, 5s, and 6s ...

X-Factor cashed and will try to run it up today while Calm and I will fire bullets at the daily deep at WSOP.

Basically a double up.

In daily deep at WSOP. Card dead but still with a chip and chair.

Next post will be a "Guess the villain hand".

So villain shows up with AA.

Not sure why he checked two streets and nearly allowed me to hit flush draw or 2 pair.

Hand that knocked me out:

Level 7

Hero (Button) - 17.5k
V1 (luck box - SB) - 47k
V2 (CO) - 24k

Blinds 1200/600/1200

Action gets around to Hero who has QJ off and calls. V1 raises to 3500. V2 calls. Hero calls.

Flop - Jc 10h 8h

V1 checks. V2 checks. Hero goes all in 13.8k effective. V2 starts staring at me like a serial killer. V1 hems and haws. Speech. Then throws in the chips. V2 stares for another 2 minutes before folding.

V1 turns over 78 off. Says he thought I was trying to steal it.

Turn - 7d.

River - brick

Hero says good game, V1 was getting it in bad almost every hand he played and hitting runner runner to get to 47k. Oh well. That's poker.

Off to Dinner

Egg rolls. Chicken lollipops. Larb. Crispy duck - red curry. Some garlic beef dish. Spicy beef. Chicken fried rice.

One of the best thai restaurants in the country. Last time I was in vegas on a layover I left the airport just to eat there and come straight back. Unreal food.

They also quietly have a great wine list.

Round 2 of golf - Boulder Creek

Actually enjoyed this course more than TPC Vegas and for $59/ golfer hot deal ... it might be the best value in Vegas.

Shot 82 (left 76 on the course with three dumb bogeys and four missed birdie putts) ... happy with round after a 2 year hiatus. Won $180 in skins. Lost $20 in bingo, bango, bongo.

Won't be late registering the daily deep stack at 2 pm as we had a two some in front of us who slowed the round to 5 hours and just got back to Shoe.

Last night ...

Sat at bar and watched two of three hookers score with marks who were young poker players. One of them was a solid Latin 7.

Did some pit degen with maniac arriving at 1 am. We played $50 on 5 numbers at roulette for about 6 spins. Didn't hit any. Won about $150 in craps.

Tonight ... maybe some poker (lists are crazy long at shoe and everywhere). Going to put the entire $180 on a baseball parlay or two ... and Rio Secco golf in morning.
