For the 3rd day in a row, dinner at The Angry Butcher. When your options without leaving the building are there, TGIFridays(which I've been to 4 times), or the food court(McDonald's, Panda Express, Roberto's, Subway, or Dunkin) you go to the steakhouse. Plus, as I mentioned, that suits me fine.

Got the 22oz bone in ribeye, crab cakes, and scallops. So so good. Didn't quite make it through all the steak, but I came close and finished everything else.

Just got done smoking in the room, now it's time for another assault on the tables. Pretty high right now so might start with Pai Gow since it's slower.

Happy Father's Day to any dads reading along!

Great trip report dude - I really enjoyed it. It's got me hyped for my September trip - and def got me in the mood to play some craps (which i almost never do) but going to make a point to have at least one solid session when I'm out there.

Really a 22oz steak or did you mean 12oz? That’s a lot of steak!

Thanks for the TR!

Looks one red on the pass line, that’s a good sign with it being that even Fremont I’d like $15 min these days.

Can’t believe I missed this epic trip. Awesome Wolf Creek golf, awesome craps runs, Sam’s.

Sweet, hit up Club Fortune for $1 craps. Think only open after 4PM. If you make all the way to Henderson there's somehow new casino The Pass on Water Street with the other small casinos that has a craps table, not sure exactly when it's open. No craps but I'd check out Skyline just for the experience.

I'm a little late with this info but if you're tired eating that sad looking breakfast at TGIF head across the street to the Longhorn. Place is kind of a dump but the restaurant isn't bad. Breakfast looks better than TGIF, half the price and probably half the wait.

Time to get checked out, cash in my last few chips, cash my Suns ticket, and start the drive home. Looks like I'm leaving with about 1300 more than I came with, so we'll call it a success.

Thanks for following along. I'll do a final write up when I get home and respond to some of the questions and comments.

Later, Vegas.

I'm bad at keeping up with player's card perks and such - what kind of monetary benefit would there be for say a $100 bet?

Like 10 cents worth of points and some status credits. Nothing to be sad about missing, but if you're there you might as give them the card.

I'm not sure if it requires a card or not, but you can get free drink tickets if you ask for them when placing a sports bet (with a $50-$100 minimum bet at most places).

Thanks for posting EC, I enjoyed the TR and congrats on the win!

Your comment inspired me to go look up how Boyd handles wagering rewards; zero tier credits, and a sliding scale of benefits based on the odds of your wager.

You can earn B Connected Points by placing wagers on the B Connected Sports app. You can earn $1 on any wager with a payout of the following:
500/1 - Earns 12 Points
300/1 up to 500/1 - Earns 11 Points
200/1 up to 300/1 - Earns 10 Points
100/1 up to 200/1 - Earns 9 Points
50/1 up to 100/1 - Earns 8 Points
30/1 up to 50/1 - Earns 6 Points
10/1 up to 30/1 - Earns 5 Points
5/1 up to 10/1 - Earns 4 Points
4/1 up to 5/1 - Earns 3 Points
3/1 up to 4/1 - Earns 2 Points
1/1 up to 3/1 - Earns 1 Point
You can also earn $1 on any wager with odds of:
-121 to -150 - Earns 0.25 Points
-151 to -250 - Earns 0.15 Points
> -250 - Earns 0.10 Points
Did their chart omit 0.5 points per dollar for a -110 wager? I'm assuming so.

Bear in mind it takes 600 BConnected points to get $1 in food. So, our hero's $500 wager on the Dodgers at -200 would earn him 500*0.15 = 75 points, which translates to 12.5 cents at the food court. But closer to 25 cents on the Jazz/Clippers Under wagers.

So, if Bighurt was just estimating, I'd say it was pretty sharp.

Honestly, the lack of tier credits is enough to make me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and say, 'why bother?' given I can still wager, on credit no less, with my local service.

Interesting. Lame there aren't tier credits.

I know at Stations you get .1% back for straight bets and .2% on parlays. $100 parlay gets you 20 cents babyyy!

And status credits I think are 1 per dollar, or perhaps 1 per 10 dollars. High right now and I don't trust myself on that part.

When I decided on a 6 day solo trip(when I made plans, I didn't know J would be joining in for part) to Vegas, I wasn't sure what to expect. When putting the plans together it always sounds great, but things rarely go as planned. Luckily, things went pretty great this time around. I didn't do all the things I had originally hoped to do, but the stuff I most wanted to do I did a lot of.

The golfing couldn't have gone better. The courses I played were in great shape, I golfed well, and the weather wasn't as brutal as feared. I wish I could've gotten that 3rd round in as well, but golfing this time of year is draining. You gotta play early, meaning an earlier than normal night the night before, then you're drained all day that day after playing. Just couldn't get up the energy to do it again.

Ate well by my standards. I typically eat like crap. Less meals and more snacking. I know TGIF is garbage by Vegas standards, but when it's super convenient(about 30 feet from the craps table) and you just want fuel, it serves the purpose. The Angry Butcher was great all 3 times I had it. Even though I've stayed at Sam's probably 5-6 other times, this was first time eating there(TGIF too, now that I think about it). It won't be the last, especially when it's mostly comped. Didn't make it out for AYCE sushi, but with the late breakfasts and knowing steaks were for dinner, there was never a good time to go. Plus, by that point we had usually been drinking and smoking so I wasn't driving us anywhere.

The gambling went well. Getting off to the start I did was a trip changer. Nothing worse than losing 30-50% of your bankroll in the first 24 hours and having to be cautious the rest of the way. It was a slow bleed for a couple days, getting almost back down to even, but we rallied and finished strong to lock in a nice W. I'm not 100% sure, and he may not be either, but I think J booked a W as well. Definitely would've if not for the Nets loss. We had a brutal craps session before the Suns game(I lost close to 1000 and J over that I think), but bounced back with nice wins after the game. I think sports bets netted me +237.30.

Sadly, poker didn't happen for a couple reason. PH's poker room being closed M-W was a big one. I planned to play after golf Wednesday but didn't have the energy, or care enough, to go somewhere else. Not when there was a perfectly good craps table staring at me. Craps was the other reason. We don't have craps in AZ(thought that's finally changing!) so unless we're on a cruise or a Vegas trip, I never get to play. Same with J. He's played plenty of poker in the pre black Friday days and now would rather gamble than grind. So instead of ubering to a different casino, we just stayed put and got our degen on. It was pretty awesome being able to go the room, rip a bong, and stumble back down to the dice.

I don't know what the exact breakdown of everything was, but I left with 2000, came back with 3500, and had put almost 900 on my debit card. So about a $600 profit after accounting for gas, food, room charges, golf, shopping, tips, etc. That's a win any way you look at it.

I'm sure there's more I want to mention that'll hit me later, but I've used enough words already.

Thanks for following along, and sorry for the lack of poker.

I really enjoyed the glimpses of Sam's Town. About 25 years ago my best friend was a regular there due to their good single deck blackjack. I started traveling there with him and stayed there more than a few times.

It was interesting getting peeks at just how much the place has changed over the years. We always had great times there until they destroyed their own single deck games.

Glad to see that you had a winning trip!
