I've done this walk a number of times during the day. It's really not that hot or difficult - but then again I'm pretty fit and healthy. May not be a pleasant walk but if you're going to the strip when it's busy the traffic is often going to make it longer to take a taxi. I wouldn't do it at night, and I wouldn't do it with significant amounts of cash on me.

Coming from where the WSOP is, go to the parking lot right outside where the WSOP is. Do not walk into the casino. Just go straight to the parking lot, the non-covered one.
Walk in the parking lot towards Twain Avenue. You're heading north while inside the parking lot the entire time. You can even go diagonal in the North East direction while inside the parking lot. Once you're out in the street walk along Twain towards the Strip, towards Caesar's.
Keep walking along Twain. You'll see the 15 Freeway over pass. Walk along Twain underneath the Freeway. The Freeway will get you lots of shade.
Then once you're past the Freeway turn right on Frank Sinatra Drive. You will continue to walking in the freeway's shade but this time you're parallel it. Its a very short from this point to a small road called Jay Sarno Way. And cross the street into it. The name of this road really does not matter. There's a lot of signs pointing to the Caesar's parking lot. Just keep walking until you get to the valet parking for the Forum Shoppes, and then just enter the Forum Shops.
That's it. Easy.
Interesting, I might give this a go.
