Earning Diamond status in January gets you the status for 2 full years.

For many people it takes a full 12 months to accumulate enough tier credits and in so doing they earn Diamond status for the following year.

Re: Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards

Are hotel prices really expensive in March? or is it because I haven't played this year? I have a diamond card and want to make trip for march madness but I was hoping to get comped rooms.

March Madness is a very busy time. Do you have comped rooms for other months? That will tell you if it's due to MM or due to your ADT being too low.

Re: Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards

It's all in the ADT. Earlier this year I could get 2 out of every 3 days comped, except weekends, at the lower priced places. I took a 3 day trip where I played only about $500 in -ev games. When I got back I saw that I only have about 3 days total comped for the year. They used to cut you some slack where they let you have a low ADT trip or two before lowering the hammer. That was the old days.

Last week I went to Harrahs AC. Showed my gold Borgata card . Immediately they give me Diamond Card. But on line still shows I am still platinum.

Re: Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards

I'm totally unfamiliar with the host biz for the obvious reason that I'm not a high roller, but I've earned Diamond the past three years, and a couple weeks ago a guy called me from Planet Hollywood and introduced himself as my host. Says he wants to help me out, blah blah blah, I tell him I'm coming for March Madness, he says to hit him up. Ok, whatever.

Checking this morning I have a single free room at every hotel except Linq. I figure what the hell, what's the harm, and email the host to see if there's any chance he can get me a discount on a second room. He emails back and says, "To be honest, you don't have much play over the last year, but I can make an exception and comp you a room, but probably can't get any additional discount." First of all, no ****, I already told you I didn't have much play last year when we talked (it was my only one trip year in probably five years, mostly because I bought a house in June). Second of all, how are you making an "exception" when I had free rooms already through the website?

I responded to him with both statements/question, in a nicer way, and said I'd probably just dink around on the website and book....his response was, "you probably didn't actually have those free rooms; they show them, but when you confirm the take them away. I went ahead and overrode that for you so you shouldn't have a problem."

He's bull****ting me, right? I have literally NEVER had that happen to me in 7+ years of getting comped through TR. Is he trying to make himself look good to me (as low roller as I am), or does he now somehow get "credit" if I book through the site?

Anyway, less than impressed with first host experience.

Re: Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards

Could be a little of both. I was showing weeks worth of comped rooms in Joliet recently but when I went to book them the website did take them away, lol. Called them though and the person on the phone was able to fix it so I had an entire week of comp, minus the weekend.

The only time I’ve seen the website take away a rate is when you either book too many nights in a row, or not enough nights.

Re: Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards

May be a bit of topic, if so, I apologize.

So I noticed that if you book a hotel directly they are offering 5x tier(not reward) credits. Are these tier credits subject to the daily bonuses?

I.E. if I rent a 500 dollar suite and receive 2,500 tier credits, will that come along with a 5k tier credit bonus? Thus, if I did this 2x would receive diamond?

Re: Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards

Your host is bull****ting I think. I find the hosts at Caesars are pretty useless. At least mine is. I pretty much exclusively book through their website and I’ve never had the room taken away (only rejected if I’ve booked too many reservations). If I can’t get a certain room I want then I call into the general reservations line and get it from them. I’ve only asked for one thing in my lifetime from my host, Seinfeld tickets, and she charged me for them. I once played $100 minimum blackjack for 10 hours average bet $350 and they tell me I don’t have enough play to cover the standard room at Planet Hollywood for 5 days let alone the $425 in room charges and I need to take care of it from my winnings (win or lose they should comp the same).

The funny thing about Caesars hosts is that you get one for all of Caesars entertainment properties. Whereas MGM you have a diff host for each property.

That's surprising. Maybe lower avg. bet for more hours would be helpful?

The website is misleading sometimes. If you look at a rate ďcalendarĒ it will often show you lots of nights where you have a comp available. However, those rates ďmayĒ be based on just a two night stay. And then thereís the case where the calendar may show almost all nights in a month comped but you can only get a max of 5 comped nights in a reservation. In any case, things are not always as they seem on the site.

If that was a single session and they had no history with you, I can see how they wouldnít be willing to comp you 5 nights. But if your typical play was at that level over a longer period, Iím sure you would get most of the comps you wanted at PH. Of course, youíd have to be rated accurately first, which is more difficult that one would hope.

In referencing the "Book Now" with specific dates, not the rate calendar, so I'm pretty sure he's bull****ting me. And he's now ignoring me with a very basic question, which is just annoying.

I pretty much just fell into TR as a rewards program....thinking of switching my play to MLife. I already have a host at NYNY, guy who transferred from SLS.

A little more detail:

I booked the PH room online as usual and it was Pre comp. Iíve been playing with PH and Caesars for years. I played two sessions, one was for 3.5 hours. The other for 6-7 hours. At the end I was up a bit over $10K and I had taken my friends out to the cafe, party of 4. And I had room service, party of 3. Not a lot. $425 in charges. Called host on duty and was told by her that my play isnít enough to justify the free room for 5 days. Wonít be able to comp room charges.

I find it extremely difficult to get rated accurately anywhere I go. I guess my progression system really throws off the bosses. Iíll start at $100, and thatís what they peg me at, but Iím averaging around $300 a bet the whole shoe unless dealer is winning every hand. And if itís a good shoe Iíll average $500 -$600 easily.

Regardless. I have a ton of play with them and I pretty much get nothing but free rooms and invitations to freeroll tournaments (BJ, Bac, Poker, VP, slots). And a whopping $25 in freeplay. Or $20 in free meals. Iíve never been compíd a real meal except for the diamond celebration dinner. And that was only a $100.

Now they arenít even giving me weekends free at Rio during WSOP. I had over 50K TC last year too. I normally spread my play around evenly at MGM (Mirage, Aria, Bellagio), CET (Rio, PH, Caesars), Venetian and Wynn. But Iíve switched most of my MGM to Caesars last year when MGM stopped giving Xpress comps to table players. Thatís how I got to 50K TC. Probably could have gotten 150K and seven stars if I switched the Wynn and Venetian play as well but I find those hotels to have much nicer rooms than Caesars.

In all, I think staying with Caesars ainít really worth it. Probably just gonna do bare minimum to get diamond so I donít have to pay resort fees at Rio during WSOP then stop playing altogether. Just not worth it. The rooms at hotels are pretty blah compared to Wynn, Venetian and Aria, Bellagio.

I have a friend who barely made diamond last year and he gets into the same freerolls as I do. With a little less free room choices. And I have a friend who is 7 stars, and he has only a little bit better free room choices.

Gonna try and stick with Wynn and Venetian this year.

Re: Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards

I agree about the progressive betting stuff. Floor people seem to disappear whenever you have a bigger bet up. But of course, they’re supposed to ask the dealers what your average bet was since they can’t watch every bet on every table. In any case, and I’m sure you’ve been given this advice, before you leave always ask the floor what they have you rated as and if it isn’t remotely accurate, then you can ask them to change it. There are certainly some floor people you’ll run into who are incompetent and purposefully difficult. I think it’s like some sort of power trip. But in my experience, the vast majority of them are pretty accommodating if you don’t behave like an a-hole at the table.

As for the comps and perks, I have been hearing people griping lately about a noticeable decline in generosity. I can’t say if this has been the case only at CET properties or across the board. If only CET, it wouldn’t surprise me as that company has had its difficulties the last few years as it tries to make its way through bankruptcy. However, someone who knows a lot about the industry once told me something pretty surprising... casinos will always chase whales, however, when the economy is generally good, they tend to neglect the mid-tier gambler (someone capable of winning or losing 5-figures in a session or trip) since so much of their revenue in a good economy is generated by the really high volume of lower stakes gamblers that come through. On the other hand, when the economy is bad, casinos do everything in their power to keep the mid-tier gamblers happy since they are much more important to the bottom line in those times.

Do the math. The casinos expected win is about 2 bucks per hand or so, IF he doesn't count? Average 60 hands per hour if not on a continuous shuffler table, which we assume OP is not a moron, so he wouldn't be. 120 bucks an hour for 10 hours, they usually comp a third of the expected win. Couple that with their probable reluctance to pay their usual comps on a a blackjack player playing big (for PHo) where counters are more likely.

Does anyone know if the 5x tier bonus on hotels/resort fees starting March 1st is going to apply for food and other things charged to the room? Also will this count toward daily Tier bonuses? I figure the first is a possibility while the second is unlikely.

Anyone know how long it takes for them to realize you're not FC member anymore and remove the status from TR? I let my FC lapse some days ago, but still show up as a Diamond in the Caesar's system until Jan 31 2020...

It seems that I was demoted to Platinum today, so now I was able to put in the Diamond match from Wyndham, hopefully this works.

Can't believe I hadn't realized I could do Marriot plat elite -> Wyndham diamond -> TR diamond. Then just need to make the trip to ac to get mlife gold from borgata before my next trip out to Vegas.
