WRT the Quest I played craps at the Linq for 30 minutes betting $10 on the line only. 22tc, which made it awkward getting only 3 more. It's not like I can only play for 5 minutes, they may not give any credits at all. So I played for another 30 and lost $40. I'd prob lose twice that playing blackjack.
Hot food comes out at 4pm in all the lounges in LV. Sunday thru Thursday the lounges open at 4pm, so the lines are longest at this point. On Fri an Sat, they open at noon so you can get there early to "camp out" a spot and have some pre-food drinks.

Veggies, chips, wasabi peas type of snacks and desserts are ALWAYS out but 4pm-6pm/6:30pm hot food comes out. Also, food is best at 4pm because sometimes they run out of the main dish before 6pm and just put out wings or the lame hot finger foods till the end of the hot food time.

Most of the lounges (Caesars, Flamingo, and Harrah's) mix up their hot food offerings and you can actual get some okay stuff.

7 Stars cut the Diamond line always

Some lounges serve hot food starting at 4:00, some it's 4:30. E.g. Caesars at 4, Paris at 4:30. Caesars seems to me the most likely to have a line.

I went to Paris at 4:30 on a Wednesday in march and there were maybe 25ppl in line. I was able to get +2 people in and we sat at the bar for 2+ hours, ate maybe 50 wings between the three of us and easily drank $100+ in booze. Excellent afternoon.

I also think waiting in the middle of the line is a good way to get an extra person in without having to call a host or anything like that. The lady just wanted to keep the line moving and waved us ahead no problem.

How long should it take to get 25 TCs if I just hang out and bet the pass line at craps?

Nobody knows for sure, it's all dependent on the pit boss.

35 min~ is my best guess

Incorrect, try heading to Caesar's or Harrah's. Always 2 hot dishes with sides, salads, and desserts 7 days a week.

Some of the CET properties have Starbucks stores that let you earn Tier credits with every purchase. Would it be possible to just buy $5k worth of gift cards and earn diamond in a day?

I am a LV local who earned DIAD in the pit, playing roulette. I don't gamble a ton but every once in a while I go take a shot at roulette, craps, baccarat or something. The day I earned DIAD I brought $3k, probably bet an average of $200 and made it last for a couple hours. I actually finished up $1,400.

The offers I've received are very lucrative and I've done my best to take advantage of all of them, being a local. Just since Feb I've redeemed:

+ $100 welcome dinner
+ $400 free play (play till lose promo chips) at Flamingo
+ $350 free play (play till lose promo chips) at Caesars
+ $400 free play (play till lose promo chips) at Planet Hollywood
+ $300 free play (play till lose promo chips) at Harrah's SoCal
+ $400 gift card to Gucci
+ 2 VIP tix to Roger Waters (Pink Floyd guy, apparently - I gave them to a buddy)
+ One trip for 4 comp nights at Caesars (gave to a friend)
+ Another trip for 6 comp nights at PH (gave to a friend)
+ $150 in F&B credits for Harrah's SoCal
+ All of the LV offers (except Roger Waters) required a 2 night min stay to redeem. I mostly checked in, never went to the room and proceeded to the cage or TR desk to redeem my offer.

My daughter had a tournament for her softball team in SD so I booked Harrah's. Stayed in the hotel for free, ordered me and the kids 2 of everything on room service for free, went downstairs 10 minutes before we had to leave and turned the $300 promo chips into $300 cash.

Some of the other offers I'm receiving are pretty nuts too. Airfare for me and companion plus room nights in Reno. Airfare for me and companion to Harrah's New Orleans, plus promo chips and comped rooms there. I'm really tempted to take my 7 year old son down there and do a swamp tour or something. I also got offered 2 free tix to both Kendrick Lamar and Ed Sheeran, but I'll be out of town. There's a ton of other offers too, all of which include up to 5 free nights at my choice of property.

Since I've earned Diamond, I've only played more than the promo chips twice, and I'm up $1600 on those sessions too. Otherwise I just wash them through for cash. But I'll almost surely do whatever I can to earn for next year.

The only negative so far is that I just tried to make another reservation for July and it says I've got too many reservations for the destination in the period. I don't know what that means, but I do have 13 days in July already reserved on upcoming offers. Hopefully it unlocks for August and beyond... the offer just came through for $500 in promo chips for both Sep and Oct.

The question was asked "how quickly do I earn TCs in the pit?" It's really an unknown, but as a casino industry lifer I can tell you this... pit players are almost always overrated. The pit boss tracks clocks you in and out of the rating system and enters your average bet. But they have pre-configured the pace of play. In roulette, they probably presume something like 60 decisions per hour but it's nowhere near that in reality. Try to play roulette on swing shift with all the people buying in and cashing out... you're lucky to get 20 spins in. So they result is that you're overrated.

nice job especially if you're just milking them for the free stuff and not giving them a ton more action.

if you want to make another reservation call up instead of booking it online. their antiquated computer system sucks. only 3 reservations at a time, can't book stuff within 72 hours of each other etc. when you call up you can book more reservations with most of the cs reps.

I've been to Harrah's. Your description is the same as mine with slightly different words.

So is there a consensus on the best diamond lounge?

Just reached diamond for the first time and only checked out Harrahs so far... Them having an actual real bar to sit at was the highlight to me, other than that they had some cheap looking plain chips, veggies, etc.

cesars has a real bar too and is nicer with a younger crowd.if you're sitting at the bar service is good at both cesars and harrahs but cesars service is much better if you're sitting at a table.

i think ph is by far the nicest and always empty with a couple of huge tvs and couches in the back.
ph food is usually just wings.

flamingo is a dump- reminded me of my hs cafeteria and i'm never going back.

i'm been to paris once- didn't really like it but people tell me the food can be really good there.

Paris
Caesars

Harrahs
PH
Rio

Flamingo

Would be my ranking. I always try to sit at the bar so i prefer those over others. I think Paris has the best ambiance, Caesars is the 'nicest', Harrahs has the best bartenders + bathrooms inside the lounge. PH is fine if you're going there to watch a game or something. Flamingo just has nothing specials about it. Rio is kind of cool as you have to take an elevator to it and it actually has windows, and they had the best selection of food when I went there.

Diamond lounges have been a disappointment for me in Vegas. I don't really drink so the bar thing doesn't matter at all. Haven't been to one this trip or the last two.

That's actually good advice. Usually I do have to call to book because the offer code for whatever reason results in an error at check-out. There is a $400 Forum gift card for July that I was hoping to get. I'll need to call and see.

Right now I have 13k TCs on Total Rewards. I'll never make Seven Stars. Do I have anything to gain by adding TCs? I'm thinking if I end up gambling again this year I should go elsewhere to try to get into their comp program.

Can anyone comment if MLife has similar offers for an achievable card status? I'd love to get a offers for MGM rooms and events too.

Stations provides OK free play offers if you play up a bit. In the monthly mailer they'll give you a free bet each week of the month. The amount of the free bet is based on your action. The best I've done is $300/week but it's a one time play chip that has to be played all at once, whereas Caesars puts them into whatever denom you want (multiples of $25) and they're play till lose, which makes my chances of getting actual cash really good. I run really bad at Stations on free bets, plus my busy schedule often makes me miss some of the weeks of the offer.

The online site does limit you to 3 future bookings, but that is per destination. During the time that I had an open comp calendar, I was able to reserve rooms for trips to Vegas(3), Atlantic City(2), Lake Tahoe(2) and Harrah's Southern California(2). After reserving your room, you can use the reservation modification to change your dates indefinitely if you cant visit right away. Even after my comp calendar dried up, I am able to edit those reservations and choose comped days that weren't even available originally. For example I had 1 night reserved at Caesars Palace for Sept and after editing I have the same room for 6 nights over NYE. Currently it shows I have reservations at both Paris and Caesars for those same nights, although I'll probably only try to use one and modify the other.

If you are currently at the 3 reservation limit, the system will allow you to place another comp reservation as soon as you check in. I was able to claim another trip before their system updated (around tues or wed every week).

When it comes to the diamond lounges, I had decent pork tenderloin and pasta at Harrah's. Not my favorite lounge but a nice alternative to egg rolls and breaded chicken wings. Planet Hollywood has my vote, based on their huge tv and drink special menu. When I visited in early May they had a Patron and watermelon juice drink that was great. I asked for it at a few other lounges but got shot down, no watermelon juice available.

When I modify the dates, it shows a higher price on the calendar but comped after going to the next screen. Best of luck.
