Hey guys, I have been reading this thread over the past couple of days as I am getting ready to make my first trip to Vegas (I live in Sydney, Australia).
I love grinding casino promos here, there are two major casino chains in Australia and I am the equivalent of 7 Stars at one and Diamond for the other. I am in Vegas for approx 10 nights and am keen to organise the Diamond card in the first day or two. Because of this I want to be able to sit down and start playing ASAP so am doing some research before hand.
Can anyone help me with the following questions:
1) I see a lot of play recommendations are on Video Poker and that there are about a billion different game types. How different are these? VP isn't massive in Australia and I have never played. I will need to consult the wizard and learn how to play from scratch. Are these games all pretty similar? (I.e is there a basic strategy I can learn that will cover all game types). I don't want to spend a lot of time on game selection considering I don't know what I am looking for so if I can run at >98% on a random machine with basic strategy I would prefer to do that as opposed to learn the exactly correct rules for all games.
2) What about electronic table games (EGM)? They are massive here and I haven't seen too much talk on them. It sounds like you have the same Aruze Craps machine that we do but that doesn't give out TC?
What about Electronic Baccarat, Roulette etc? Do you have these and if so does anyone know what turnover (coin in) you need on these per TC?
3) If I get a Diamond Card does my wife get access to the lounge with me as otherwise I will need to do it twice! I was going to ask about the spas but it seems like she will be able to access those from previous posts.
4) Not a big fan of resort fees (obv) if I book a room now and earn diamond in the first couple of days are they any chance of waiving the the resort fees (or upgrading me to some kind of Nick Papageorgio suite) for the rest of the trip or is that likely to occur the trip after?
5) In relation to upgrades am I best doing all my (non poker) gaming at the hotel I am staying that. Does anyone know if during trip benefits are causal of location?
6) Which CET property should I stay at? I am a life nit so am looking at the cheaper ones (planning to stay at the nicer ones when I am comped!
). Flamingo, Bally and Harrah's seem to be the cheapest. I would sleep on a park bench if it were up to me but the wife is pickier. What is likely to be the cleanest and have the nicest pool and spa?
7) I will be around from approx 28 June to 9 July. If you are around then and like drinking copious amounts of alcohol and eating greasy food whilst playing cards then let me know!
Thanks in advance. Really appreciate all help!
