i found the email in my inbox, and it still allowed me to register. I even received a confirmation message.

That said, who knows wtf this means. I'm contacting support -- hopefully they can confirm! Thanks for the hint Lattimer.

I have a question about comps. I only go to LV once (sometimes twice) a year and never really worried much about comps. I always used to stay at The Venetian and the comps were straightforward. Go to the poker desk and they would give me a comp for a meal. I never really accumulated many comps because I am not there enough. But since Venetian downsized poker (and comps) while upgrading rake I haven't been there in a while.

So the past couple of trips I played mostly at Mlife and Total Rewards places but not sure how the comps work?

I only play poker. If I play at Ballys can I use comps at Planet Hollywood? If I play at Bellagio can I use comps at Mirage? And am I correct in assuming at either company they are simply redeemed at the poker desk? And do they have expirations dates?

Thanks!

I can't say about Mlife. I think at Bellagio the poker comps have to be redeemed by the poker room.

CET comps are accrued as Reward Credits, stored on your TR card, and can be used anywhere CET, nationwide. You just use your TR card like a credit card at restaurants or whatever. I think they expire after 6 months of no activity or something like that.

The answer to these questions is quite different for CET Casinos (Ballys/PHo/Caesars) vs. MGM casinos (Bellagio/Mirage/Aria).

Comp earned in any way at any CET casino nationwide can be used however you like at any other CET casino nationwide. You just have your Total Reward card swiped when you are paying the check/hotel bill etc. You don't need to get any sort of comp slip in advance. You comp balance will expire if you have no activity of any sort on your Total Rewards card for 6 months.

At most MGM casino, comps earned at a poker room can only be used at a handful of restaurants at that casino. At least at Bellagio, you need to see the poker room manager on duty and have them write you a paper slip for a predesignated amount. That's the only MGM casino I've ever actually used a comp, but my impression is it is similar at others. The expiration of these comps seems pretty arbitrary to me; it used to be your comps wouldn't expire if you played at Bellagio at least once a year, but I think they recently changed this policy and removed a lot of players' comp balances without notice.

It is unfortunate there are no CET poker room with game selection competitive with the big MGM rooms, since their comp system is so superior except for true high rollers.

earn X tier points in a day, get $Y 'Return Rewards' 3-4 days after you earned it. it's free slot play.
normally (but not always) you'll get an email about it when it shows up on your acct. it expires between 2weeks - 2months, depending on region. not sure what time frame Vegas gives.

earn 75 tc, get $5 fsp.
at 500tc, get $10.
1000tc, get $20.
so extrapolating that, you should get $100 for 5k tc.

check your acct.
even if you didn't get an email, it will always be listed on your Total Rewards acct under offers.

I think this is highly specific to certain markets. I used to get this all the time from Baltimore, but I don't think they do it any more. And I never got them for Vegas.

so your total rewards acct doesn't show any free slot play for Vegas shortly after your DiaD?

could have sworn I got some fsp in vegas 9months ago when earned 1k tc on day 1.
but looking back at emails, all I see is confirmation about my 1k bonus tc for earning 1k tc.
but no fsp emails.

I never did DiaD. I got 1000 TCs in a day several times in Baltimore and AC, and 500 TCs a few times in Vegas. Always got return rewards for Baltimore, never for AC or Vegas.

I've gotten random slot play offers in lots of places, but not in connection with a particular past day's play.

Never saw this, but it's a moot point now. Back home 5 hours away from the nearest CET property and no plans to return to one for a couple of months.

My wife's account is Diamond again as of this morning. A good two weeks ahead of the March 3rd date they gave us.

Has anyone tried to make DIAD in the pit? I'd be willing to give up a little more in EV if I could avoid getting bored out of my mind playing VP.

At blackjack it would take like 7-8 hours at 500 average. You could have some MONSTER swings.

Is it possible at craps? Also, is there any discretion from the pit on how many TCs you get?

It's possible at any game as long as you bet big enough and long enough. Pit won't have any direct influence on TC, as it's derived from time and avg bet. Pit could maybe put you in for a higher avg bet than what you're really betting but it won't be significantly more.

It's easy enough to do an unscientific experiment. Just play for an hour with $100 bets and see how many tc you get.

Good suggestion--funny enough, I just tried this. I got 10 TCs for playing 20 mins of betting $50 on the pass line. So we're looking at 300 TCs for 1 hr of $500 on the pass line.

This means you're giving up way too much edge trying to get DIAD in the pit unless (1) I didn't get credit for the full 20 mins while they were registering my card, or (2) you could get credit for average bet when betting the odds (a guy I know who worked for CET 2008-10 said they did this back then, though seems likely they've gotten smarter since then)

Ouch, at that rate you're going to be one tired puppy by the time you get 5000 tc. At $500 per bet you would need, what, 20 grand at least?

20k seems a little high, it's tough to go 40 games under .500 flipping coins, my intuitive guess would be 10k or so to have a 1% risk of ruin. Also FWIW 2500 TCs is as good as 5000 now, you can do DIAD in two days now.

Also you may be able to reduce the casinos edge by picking spots on the craps table maybe? You can find a table with a bunch of drunk/partying people that shoot slowly. I wonder how many rolls/hr a table at caesars gets in at 11 on a Saturday night

At this point I'm almost positive you give up way too much trying to get DIAD in the pit rather than at VP, but it's fun to think about

Yeah, pit would need higher roll. Would be fun to do at craps but only if i was placing odds wagers, come bets etc... No way it would be fun to simply bet the pass/don't pass for 8 hours straight and nothing else. VP would be more fun than that for me. Speaking of which, do they take into account come bets? i assume yes, would be more fun to bet like $200 pass, than 2 $150 come bets, might reduce variance a bit if shooter 7's out right away plus you would might be able to make some money if they keep rolling a lot of numbers but no points.

I thought I made a post saying I think it would be more like $50k, but since I don't see it now I won't re-post it in case it was deleted.
