Yes, the wording on the offer sounds like you get upgrade to Plat when you get the card, but that's it. Then you get tc for using it? Or only rc?

Give them a call, if you spent over $5k on the Visa last year you should be Platinum.

5k/yr isn't a requirement I'm aware of.

take a look at your credit card statement, probably page 3, says that if you spend $5k in the year, you maintain platinum status. i also received a few postcards and e-mails about that.

first couple of years, just having the credit card made you platinum, they changed that for 2016.

in any case, a call to them can't hurt if you spent $5k

Paid resort fees for the first time in years this week. Feels bad. Even worse, my room was comped and when I went to check out the computer did not add resort fees to my bill. Lucky for CET they had a bitch at the counter that thinks she's getting paid a commission or something because she was NOT willing to just leave it alone. Took her 10 minutes but damned if she didn't get it fixed so that I was able to pay resort fees.

Got an email from FC yesterday saying I'll be diamond around March 3 based on my spot in the queue. Bastards. Would have been done already, but I let my membership lapse for like 12 hours or some ****. Bastards.

Mine seems to renew to platinum every year even though I quit using it and it's been resting in the safe. I got the credit card back when platinum level let you waive the resort fee BS, but since that benefit was removed the platinum level has absolutely zero value to me. If the credit card had an annual fee I would have cancelled it.

CET's computer billing is a real POS. It shouldn't be that hard to program. More than once it tried to charge me resort fees and I had to call to get them taken off. It used to be you could count on hotels to bill you correctly, but now you have to check everything.

Why is there a queue? Are they only allowed one Diamond per day?

maybe you have Platinum from CET play, and nothing to do with the credit card?

I get the feeling they're telling everyone March 3rd. I'm basing on a sample size of three, so I could be wrong of course. I emailed them yesterday regarding my wife's account, who I added on to my Founders last year. They said by March 3rd. Another friend that I referred also got the same response. I'm hoping it's just a "stop bugging us until" date. Certainly some people's Diamond statuses have already been restored.

Hopefully this year has been enough of a cluster**** for them to realize they need to get this particular benefit squared away in the coming years before letting it lapse like they did this time.

The TR Visa does give you Platnium but I got the email like others on here saying if I spent 5k by May 10th I would get my Diamond status back. I would rather use that credit card then give Founders another $295 considering their attitude.

if when you booked the room you still had diamond i would call up and try to get the charges taken off.

I got auto demoted to gold then reupped to diamond like others. My FC fee is due in June. I'm going to let it lapse and gamble that my diamond status stays intact. Won't do the 5k spend offer either, lol

It doesn't. When your membership lapses they have CET demote you. Has happened to people ITT last year. It prevents people from freerolling an extra year out of it.

A few things to add from my recent experience.....

1) I have the TR Visa and DID NOT earn enough TCs to maintain Platinum last year. Just checked my account and I am STILL Platinum through January 31st 2018.

2) Just spent 5 days/4 nights in Vegas over Super Bowl weekend. 3 nights were comped +resort fees and 1 night was supposed to be $25 +resort fee. So I was expecting to pay ~$160 for the stay. When I went to check out on the TV, it said I would be charged $97.89. I agreed and checked out. Looks like they forgot to charge me for the extra night and resort fee. Just checked my Visa bill and they did not alter it.

3) Pretty sure getting Diamond with the TR Visa is only a perk for new sign ups. I can't find anywhere on their site where existing cardholders can spend 5K and get Diamond upgrade.

I have had the TR Visa for years and got the 5k email.

I have all of my TR emails from January 1st and don't see where I got that email. I'll easily spend the 5K on it, so I guess i'll just wait and see if I get the upgrade.

You needed to opt into the deal by this past Friday, so you won't get the upgrade.

I don't like their attitude either, but won't be letting it lapse because I like being locked in at 295 and wouldn't want that to change. I also don't want to pay the damned initiation fee again if the credit card upgrade turns out to be a one time thing.

Did you get $100 in return rewards/free play 3-4 days later for 5k TC in a day?
