Re: Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards

Anyone know if you can use the $100 Welcome dinner on a Super Bowl party in a restaurant that's on the approved list?

Just did DIAD on Planet Hollywood JoB 9/5 DSTP machines. Ten play for 70/spin. Was down about 5k at one point... Ended up losing about 2300.

ouch..
-$2300/50k = -4.6%

why did you stick with $1 10play instead of 3play?
for $70/spin, $2 5play would probably have been a better option incase you hit it big.

what were your best multiplied hands?
any w2-g forms?

Didn't hit a single handpay and best dealt with multiplier was 2 pair so overall ran awful. Best multiplier was quads on draw with 4x.

Re: Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards

Any good VP machines at any of the bars for getting tc's? Im assuming they don't pay as well as vp on the floor but i get extremely bored fast when on the floor.

Or what is the best game to be playing for TC's if you're going to be playing at a bar?

Ouch, that is some run bad. Congrats on Diamond and I really hope you get some sick room offers because that is a rough way to get Diamond. Thanks for sharing!

Does Diamond still get you pool and/or spa access anywhere? Unable to locate on website.

It definitely gets you spa/gym access at several properties. It was mentioned in one of the other Diamond threads. Harrah's, Flamingo, Paris, Planet Hollywood, and Rio for sure, don't know about the others. As for pool access, I don't know.

You only lost $2300 and didn't hit any royals? You ran pretty good.

Re: Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards

I am pretty sure expected loss with no royals is only like half that.

Edit: No royals EV is -1770.90 so didn't run horrible but did lose like 35 percent more than no royal expectation and almost 5x actual expectation.

I guess my reference point is the way I run at JoB. I usually do a little worse than 1 tc/dollar lost.

on the bright side, you now have a high avg daily theoretical (adt) and should be getting lots of offers in a couple of months.

but those offers will be all from Vegas.

Re: Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards

Noticed that Founders app under travel no longer mentions diamond status, only 20-25% off rooms. The lifestyle section still lists CET with the 2/2 update they are still working on the 2017 benefit. I wonder when FC started to negotiate 2017 status, seems like it is only a concern now with the mounting number of complaints, especially for those out in Vegas for Super Bowl weekend.

What's DSTP?

Do you guys figure that you will get 2300 or 7000 in value out of being Diamond? Or do you just chalk some of that cost as fun you had while gambling?

I think the answer is 'no' to both, and it's just variance.

they won't get that value out of being diamond but it's possible they get that much value out of comped rooms and offers if they go to vegas enough

Re: Diamond in a Day - CET Total Rewards

I will save about 600-700 in resort fees, probably get some decent free play offers, 100 for the diamond dinner voucher, get free drinks at locations such as Council Bluffs, and get to go to the top of the list for poker (at least in CET's Vegas locations.

Idk if it is necessarily worth 2300 but that is just variance (bigger loss than EV). I think it is definitely worth more than the actual expected loss to me.

DSTP stands for Double Super Times Pay. You pay 2 extra credits per line to have a chance at multipliers.

I travel for poker close to 6 months out of the year, including circuit stops, Borg in AC and various other series where 95% of my stops have CET properties nearby. I'm saving $450~ per series in resort fees, countless dollars on Food when I'm able to go to diamond lounges. Cherokee, Hammond, AC, and especially Las Vegas from 4 weeks in June/July each year. The ability to show up to Vegas, sell Penn & Teller tix on CL in May, June, and July. $100 food voucher, trip to Atlantis, and so on.

If you are a true value hunter like myself and religiously stick to your perks of Diamond throughout the year, Diamond is worth almost 2x 7k or 6x 2300 that was lost on the machine. I had used Founders in the past, but wouldn't think twice about getting Diamond thru VP.

I understand most in here, don't travel like myself, but Diamond was never intended for those that make 2-3 trips a year. Just thought I'd come in and say how much Diamond saves me yearly and increases my ROI at Poker stop/series.

Mostly I asked the question to see if I could justify the cost to myself. I made Diamond last year and now have to decide to try to do it again this year.

The resort fees are definitely the biggest perk, although if I had to pay them I would just visit far less often. I don't really get any free play offers at all, other than ten bucks slot play and occasional toaster at my "local" CET place, which is 200 miles away. I'm not buying $20 of gas to get a free $15 toaster.

Jumping poker lines is also a huge benefit that's hard to put a value on. Weekends like this past one make for some long wait lists.

The hundred dollar meal is basically worthless to me. I didn't even use mine last year. I'm a low-roller eater and seldom pay much more than $20 for a dinner. I figured that with a "free" hundred dollar dinner I would tip $20, which is what I'd spend anyway. I might enjoy a free Penn & Teller show but all the rest looked like meh. Even so, I have been unable to see it in my last 5 trips because I'm not leaving a good game or whatever because I need to see a show at 10 o'clock.

The Diamond Lounge is something that I thought I would get a lot out of, but again, you have to be there in a two hour window to get food, and I can't run on a schedule in Vegas. So far I've gotten about 5 bucks worth of free food since last July.

How much is that like Ultimate X? Every single time I've tried Ultimate X it's been like a cash incinerator, as Leon describes it. Put money in, push button to incinerate.

Interesting how the same card is so beneficial to some and not at all to others. Other than resort fees I get nothing that has tangible value out of it.
