Did the previously own the Horseshoes there or another property?
Those are owned by Dan Gilbert now?

Mlife does that too, they bumped me up to platinum when I fell short. It's good policy that costs them next to nothing, which is why I'm shocked that either company does it.

Dan Gilbert's Rock Gaming managed the Ohio casinos, but they had the Horseshoe name until this year when Rock Gaming bought out 100 percent of the Cincy and Cleveland casinos.

Good to know and I agree it is a good policy.

Yay, I got my Spring bonus thing today and I'm officially Diamond.

Thanks to all the fine posters itt that suggested feasible ways to get there. I never thought there was any way on earth I could ever get Diamond.

Now the TR website taunts me with "Only 129,000 tier credits to Seven Star". Getting 15k was so much work, there just seems to be no way in hell to get 9x that. But the free crap looks so cool...

Ive gotten a comped 7 day cruise, and ive got comped rooms with comped airfare in Reno.

the rewards for online poker are unbelievable.

Cheapest way is at a good payback VP machine, and only playing to exactly a tier credit bonus on any given day (ie exactly 2500 or 5000 tier credits in a day).

I can't see myself doing that. To get Diamond I needed the spring bonus, and I needed to make a few trips to Vegas anyway for WSOP and some business that I had. I can't justify trips only to grind VP. Weekend rooms are way too expensive and I'm not taking time off work to do it.

Finally, the spring bonus appears in my account. They literally waited till the last 2 hours. I was ready to hit up a TR desk tomorrow to make sure they weren't going to try and stiff me on some stupid technicality.

One step closer to renewing my Diamond status.

Good paytable is very hard to find at CET rooms, as their machines are typically lower quality then everyone else. I'm not aware of any good paytables for $1 or less, other than the Cromwell which has a bank of good pay .25 machines, but at a reduced tier credit accumulation. The Rio used to have playable VP but I couldn't find any on the last trip.

There are more CET properties than just Las Vegas.

http://pokerfraudalert.com/forum/sho...-around-the-US

Not sure if that is completely up to date, but lists a bunch of playable machines all over the country. Here's what Druff has to say about Las Vegas:

Quote:
Las Vegas

The Las Vegas market has been degraded, and it's been this way for awhile.

The sad truth is that it's just not very cost-effective to earn your status in Vegas.

But if that's your only option, here are a few games you can play:

Planet Hollywood
Double Super Times Pay 9-5 Jacks or Better: $1/credit, 3/5/10 play machine, 7 credits per hand when max play (this means minimum $21 per hand). 98.95% return. More variance than regular Jacks or Better, but same strategy. You're paying two credits extra for a "multiplier" which comes on every so often, which is actually a net positive for you. Best machine for racking up tier credits quickly, as you can earn 5000 tier credits in about two hours on 10-play mode. Located in High Limit room. Make sure it's Double Super Times Pay, and the 9-5 paytable. These are in the "All Star II" machines. There are also $2 and $5 3/5/10 play variants of this, but that's really introducing a lot of variance.
Average loss getting to Diamond: $525
Average loss getting to Seven Stars: $5,250

Rio
Double Bonus Poker: $1/credit, 1 play. 99.11% return. This will earn tier credits slowly, and will take about 10 hours of play to earn 2500 tiers. But this is technically the highest returning machine in Vegas that gives you a tier credit per $10 wagered. Note that this is Double Bonus Poker, not Double Double Bonus. These are located between the Buffet and the All American Grille. The paytable is 9 for a full house, 7 for a flush, 5 for a straight, quads at 50/80/160, and 55 for a straight flush. Verify these payouts before playing.
Average loss getting to Diamond: $445
Average loss getting to Seven Stars: $4450

CP to the rescue. Look hard and you'll find 9/5 and even 9/6.

But at $10/TC? The 9/6 that exists is $50/TC AFAIK which makes it similar to 97.5% payback when normalizing for cost/TC.

The 99.2% BP at Rio does give $10/TC, or at least it did as of last month. It's a better tier credit return than any remaining 9/6 JoB machines, which I believe are all at least $20/TC.

Question for you Seven Star bigshots: The website says you can get a free room any time you want with 48 hours notice. Can you get it free at any hotel? For example, staying in Vegas, if you're a low-roller and just barely wheezed across the line to make Seven Star, do they limit you to Bally's and Flamingo? Or do they let you stay at PHo/Cromwell/Caesars/Nobu?

If you are Seven Stars you are not a low roller,

btw Sevens Stars is not automatic based on number of earned Tier Credits, a host or other TR rep has to approve you...

but, based on availability you can get a room at any property in the US and Canada

From talking to a 7 Star member several years ago, you can get rooms at any property, but you can't get a room more than four days in a week.
