That does seem like a pricey spot. $11 for a Miller Lite? Lol. People must have money to burn.

Anyhow, I can't imagine those sorts of prices are anywhere near typical.

And I thought the vouchers could be used "towards" paying for a drink whereby you could just pick up the difference. I could be wrong about that as I have never been somewhere that charges $20+ for a cocktail.

Vouchers were only usable on drinks priced $20 and under. Some restaurants would let you pay the difference if you were using the vouchers at a meal, but bars and retail pretty much never did.

In 2020 when they started with the vouchers, most of the cocktails at places that took vouchers were under $20. But prices kept creeping up, and this past year jumped up quite a bit.

Very few of the places on the list have cocktails under $20 now, but nearly every place has ones under $25. So this change is actually a big deal.

My point was more to the general prices at Caesars. I'd probably say the average price of a good cocktail in Vegas has to be in the $17-20 range (it obviously differs depending on the restaurant/bar... as well as type of drink). Caesars has upped their drink prices and limits in the last year or two and it's really turned me off.

I think we are entering an era where things which were once considered reasonable are being pushed into the realm of luxury. The middle class will have to stick to Applebee's if they want to have a cocktail from time to time

I don't have a problem picking and choosing where I want to drink and how much it costs, but I would have been upset if I was diamond plus and couldn't get a decent drink.

Like Karma said, this is a big deal. If Caesars is going to increase their minimum bets, decrease their odds, and increase their drink prices, then the vouchers need to increase.

I thought it was fairly obvious that I do.

I keep diamond for the waived resort fees (either for me or friends).

I find it hard to believe one has to pay more than $20 to get a decent drink, even in Vegas.

Anyhow, it’s good that they throw folks a bone by upping the voucher amounts so you can get the vastly over-priced concoction of your choice. I mean, pretty much every other move they’ve made in recent years has been to reduce and/or water down rewards benefits.

But the vouchers are still just crumbs.

Have you been to Caesars? Go to Old Homestead and order a Manhattan.

Hey, everyone can have their own reasons for wanting high tier status.

Before I moved here, it was comp rooms and skipping lines. Then it became No Resort Fees.

But, every since I moved to Vegas eight years ago, the number one thing on my list has been Free Drinks Not On The Casino Floor. That continues to hold a lot of value for me. Sure, I can get free drinks while gaming, but what I want is to be able to chill out somewhere off the gaming floor and have some drinks after work, or before a show. Maybe with some non-gambling friends, or maybe with my spouse, and not light money on fire at the slots.

The lounges were the absolute nuts for this. Drink Vouchers were an entertaining substitute at first, since you got to check out some new places. But the continual price hikes that pushed more and more items off of the already small list made me unlikely to make a push for diamond plus on my wife's account for next year. The recent change is making me re-evaluate things.

I have. And I believe it’s possible to get a decent drink in lots of places besides Caesars. The point of my comments is that people are talking like the
most expensive spot is the only place they can get what they want. I would suggest, if that is the case, then Caesars has you right where they want you.

I agree with all of this.

I'm not saying people shouldn't achieve whatever tier that they want, but risking a good deal of money to not even being able to use a drink voucher (let alone stay) at a top property just isn't worth it to me.

Like I said, the voucher increase is a big deal.

I remember awhile back where I picked up a scotch for an acquaintance and it was 18 bucks. Not a fancy scotch or a fancy place.

Was that a Vegas MGM property that did it for you? I'm going try either MGM Springfield or Borgata and if that doesn't work, try one out in Vegas next month. Thanks

Eldorado in Reno will have a 5X tier credit period this Dec. 25-29. Unlike other CET properties, this joint has lots of good video poker. The question is: $10 coin-in per tier credit for those machines, or something worse, as has been the case in Vegas for anything returning 98% or more? Any idea how I can find out?

Did you look on vpfree2.com? Looks like Eldorado has fantastic vp. Harrah's at Tahoe has some good machines too.

Yeah the wording on the kiosk is horrible if you basically still have the 4 vouchers but they're just on your card. It made me think I had 25$ to spend on drinks total. But the cashier at starbucks made it sound like it basically same as the vouchers (as does reading peoples experiences here). 5$ increase and not having to print vouchers seems like a win in my book!

sooooooooooo not worth it for points anyway!

Caesar's bought my local casino where I play and they are squeezing out profits to the point its insulting.
Examples . . .

1) They removed the "we will seed the BBJ $20K when it hits $70K"
2) They removed all 1-2 tables for 1-3
3) They took out the burger joint and put in a pizza place and I swear to you, it's the worst pizza you ever had. You literally cant find any sauce on it. Very few people ever buy it a second time
4) You cant buy a double it has to be a shot and a half and the price is so high it's like they dont want to sell alcohol. A shot and a half of jager is $10.50. The entire bottle is $23 at the local grocery store.

It's frustrating to say the least.

I wonder at what point they get diminishing returns.
I go to Vegas every summer for a long trip and there's no way in hell I ever pay for a drink the entire two weeks I'm there just out of spite. I'll load up the tables or buy a handle at a slightly offstrip store. I bring crap loads of instant oatmeal to have a free breakfast each day instead of paying $13 for not real eggs at whatever brutal fast food joint is nearby.

Bellagio just matched my Caesars Diamond card during the first week of December.

Went to the High Limit Slots room... and the attendant made one phone call, and the deal was done. Walked out with a Gold MGM card (I was already an MGM rewards member).

I just used my drink vouchers for food at the Fulton Street Bar. Got a breakfast burrito and breakfast skillet for two of my drinks. Are there any other places we can use drink vouchers for food?
