This was on the reservation email I got:

I'm going to try to get my play in with vp. CET has dumped all their "good" paytables and left only the mediocre ones at $1 stakes. I assume JoB is the lowest variance, so maybe the best move is to play $5 JoB if I can get at least 99%? Or if time is running short and I can't get the coin-in through at $1 credits?

Ballys has two $10 per point $1 multi play machines in the high limit room.

$1 triple play at $15 a spin is only 666 hands with the 5x multiplier

For you slot players, do you notice the gamble tendency translating into your poker game? Do you tend to chase more than you probably should?

I try to avoid slots and feel my poker game is more mathematical and conservative so I’m wondering if the gambler types notice a similar correlation or if that’s just an old wives tale.

Is Jacks or Better the best video poker variant to try and get 1k or more tier credits in a day for the 5x promo? I usually play DDB when I play VP. I'm guessing the regular 1 line game would be better than something like Ultimate X, even with the same pay tables for Full House and Flush.

That's only 1000 tc, right? You need 2500 for the daily bonus.

If you did do 2500 tc what is the final tally? 2500 + 2500 x 5 + 5000 daily bonus? so 20000 tc. Would this be an opportunity to do diamond in a day at 1/2 the coin in?

Or 2 days of 1000 + 1000 x 5 + 1000 daily = 7000 x 2. Almost there. 1100 + 1100 x 5 + 1000 daily = 7600. Would 2 days of 1100 TC get to diamond with this promotion?

5x is a multiplier, not a bonus. Doing it in one day, 2500 x 5 = 12,500 + daily bonus of 5,000 = 17,500.

It doesn't make sense to "almost" do it in two days and put 2,000 coin-in when for an extra 500 you finish it in one day. Assuming you have the time.

So I got to Vegas, and right away you notice how crappy the CET vp situation is. Not only are there only mediocre paytables, but the machines with those mediocre paytabes are few and hard to find, even with the vpree2 data. The rest of the paytables downright suck.

I started at PHo at a machine I've had good luck with before. It was brutal. My $225 free play didn't last 5 minutes, and that was $1 credits. Then another grand went quickly down the drain. 1 boat and zero quads. 200 tc total. Gulp, not even 10% towards the finish. I really hoped $1225 would get me all the way, but I brought an extra $900 "just in case". I didn't want to spend any more than that for Diamond.

Then I tried a plain old 1 play machine, which would take a long time to make up the 2300 tc's. It ran really well though, and 7 hours and $600 later I had my 2300 tc's, a sore back, and a dead wrist. Lots of quads, except for aces, dangit, and no royals, obv. If you're going to use a 1 play machine, you'll need to turn it up to warp speed or it will take a very long time. The first time I did DIAD I almost didn't finish by the 6 a.m. deadline.

Don't know about vegas, but caesars in Baltimore and ac has drastically decreased tier credit earnings on VP machines. And that's on top of the terrible pay tables as well. Not worth it here.

Yup.. best payable caesars east coast was at Bally's ac, 9/7 db (99.1%) @ $10/tc.
sadly they are no longer caesars

I did Diamond in a Day at Caesars Southern Indiana. 2500 tier credits in a day, with the 5x promo. Their video poker pay tables are nothing special, but that's the closest Caesars property to me. Ended up mixing up 3 line Ultimate X DDB and blackjack. Not the most optimal idea, but it was fun. Pretty swingy day, but I ended up coming back and breaking even. Best feeling I'll ever get for breaking even! Hopefully this will help my offers at this property and in Vegas.

I don't believe so. There are several Seven Star guys who post in here regularly though.

Breaking even while getting Diamond is pretty darn nice. It's happened to me in past years, so it was time for me to pay the piper a little bit.

Bad news from the Diamond check-in - no more free refrigerated waters.

They said that started last year. Don't know if that was an Eldorado thing or what.

In other news, I hit a royal today at PHo. Unfortunately not in vp, but 1/2. Still, my first one at the table. Not very impressive though, only won 50 bucks, and there was a 5 card flush on the board. Including the T, J, Q, and A.

Can you still get a refrigerator for being a diamond?

Some hotels have them in every room anyway. Rio, Ballys, and Paris for certain.

I see that you get tier credits for reserving a room. When did that start?

I think we've always gotten them for actually staying at a CET or partner hotel (at least as far back as I recall). Are you saying we now get them simply for reserving a room? That would be odd, but I don't know.

I had a refrigerator brought to my room at Caesars, complimentary for diamond, when I stayed last year. It’s upon request.

Harrahs AC had 9/6 JoB in the higher limit area. Wonder if they are still there. I will check shortly as I took a trip up here for the heck of it.

BTW, Ballys has opened it's food court - Johnny Rockets, Nathan's hot dogs, Subway, and Sbarro. Don't know about the chinese place.

yes it's 9/6 JoB at $20 per tier credit. 50k coin in to get 2500 points. 50k x .9956 your expected loss is like $230

I didn't get here early enough but I ended up making 1000 tier credits playing $10 a spin and played for about 3 hours. I was down $1100 at one point but made it all back and ended up winning $200. I switched between JoB and Joker poker.

There is a 9/5 machine that pays 1 tier credit for ever $10 but that's 98.5% and 25k coin in to get 2500 points. Your expected loss is higher at $350~ but you can get it faster.

I would recommend playing the $5 JoB and just put in $2000 into the machine if your bankroll is big enough and spin away. I should of done that but too late now. Next time they have this promo that's what i'm gonna do. at $25 a spin you only gotta spin it 2000 times.
