For $400 a year plus $100 sign up fee, it makes sense for someone living close to CET properties, especially in Vegas. Having access to the gym and spa plus the lounges everyday gives good value but having resort fees waived pushes this over the edge (in favor).
If you stay 20 nights at $25/night resort fee, you already cover the cost of the card! And with the cheap rates for Flamingo/Bally's/Harrah's that are online, the resort fee ends up being equal to the room cost.
I might get this card when I get back into town since I lost my Diamond since I've been away from Vegas.
Plus the $100 dining credit is an extra bonus that covers the sign up fee.
So $500 minus $100 dining credit makes it $400 divided by 12 month makes it $33/month for no resort fees, free lounges, and free gym/spas. Nice deal!
I think once you start talking to one of their agents you can get the price down a little too. I got it for 295 a year, but I had to pay for 2 years up front, plus the initiation. I think right now though, you can get 1 year for 395 with the initiation fee waived. Or if they don't waive the initiation fee they're offering a $100 Visa card or somesuch.
You said you might get it when you get back in town, keep in mind it takes a couple of weeks after signing up to get the diamond status in effect.
