There is nothing more annoying than being 1st up and then a Diamond strolls in jumps the list and then a seat opens. Then it could be awhile for another to open.

Trust me I know. But I guess I no longer get to be that *******. Sometimes I feel bad for the huge lines at check in for gold. But then I remember being there myself. What goes around comes around.

The funniest thing is at Flamingo check in, it could be different now but there used to be 3 lines.
No card line 100+ people, at least gold line with 20 people and Diamond plus with only a couple.

Those dolts standing in 100+ line when all they have to do is go get a card and save 1 hour or more. Who doesn't get a card anyway when going to a casino.

Damn, that sucks. This is likely my last year at Diamond, which also means last year of going to Vegas.

Most of us have paid the casino a pretty penny for that privilege. Getting Diamond don't come free.

They probably didn't know. Most (maybe all) of the other Vegas casinos don't do that. It's either Diamond/7 Star, Platinum, and everyone else.

I wanted to find out and called Harrah's poker room. They said its the same as before with Diamond card+ except the top person on list can't get jumped.

So if 5 on list and Diamond shows up, he is 2nd on list. Now the top person doesn't get screwed. That seems fair.

Diamonds being permitted to jump the queue sure saves them from having to answer the phone from all the diamonds calling in to put their names on the list.

As a player who plays many times a week, I like saving the time of having to phone in 1 hour before arriving, but would do so if the policy changes as I’m sure many of the other most frequent players will.

Flamingo is weird. From the heat not working properly in their rooms to the waitresses IDing you when you order a water...

The location is excellent though. Definitely the biggest thing they have going for them.

Counter point

Skipping an entire list with diamond is great

So is walking waking past a long line of people waiting to pay 45 dollars a night in resort fees at the hotel check in to use the diamond lounge check in that's empty

It just SEEMS more fair. It won't have much of an effect because if you are 2nd you can still be stuck in line for an hour especially at Caesar's and Flamingo where so many of the regs are diamond+ nits. There was this dude at Flamingo who was literally the tightest player I've EVER seen. Not even an old guy. He was on his tablet. In the five or so hours total I've been on the table with him, I think he played ONE hand where he wasn't in the big blind. And I was watching most hands. But when you're staying there and too lazy to walk across the street to Bellagio...

A better system that's actually fair imo would keep the diamond's ability to move to 1st BUT if someone has been 1st for longer than x amount of time (say half an hour) they are 1st no matter what. As someone ITT pointed out earlier, we either paid for diamond with -EV gambling or grinded long hours for it. Or tier matched but even then we still had to earn it.

Anyone have more to comment on this?

In general, what would be the "easiest" way to get Diamond in a day? Is VP still the best route?

Agree, sounds reasonable. I still wanna go to the front of the buffet line though.

Crap, it looks like the cheapest way on vp is to fly to Reno and catch a shuttle to Tahoe.

Where do you get the 5x tier credits multiplier? I got an email saying I have that offer but when I click the link it just brings me to my offers page. Also somehow I'm banned from comped rooms again. I waited 72 hours to book one night after booking five nights last week. Now I'm banned again? I thought it was four or less a week.

Don't. I did the same thing in November and regretted it. The two CET casinos there are hella depressing, especially Harveys. We got a bad snow storm the second day I was there so I didnt have a choice but to sit in those casinos blowing money at terrible odds.

Even the VP machines at Harveys in some places are hella weird. Like $1 denom at the bar, but max bet is $3?

I used to live in San Jose, so I've been to Tahoe many times. Played in the Circuit event, etc. I'm familiar with the casinos and they don't bother me.

Since Reno/Tahoe got brought up, any opinions in the skiing/staying at reno/tahoe? I have offers for Sierra Ski passes and stay at harveys tahoe or Squaw Valley ski tickets and stay at harrahs reno. I'd only do one trip. I'm somewhere between beginning and intermediate at skiing if that matters.

In regards to skiing, I cant help since I went in August, but Harrahs is the "better property" of the two in Lake Tahoe and they are the ones with the diamond lounge too. Harveys is the one with the poker room though, but they are right across the street from each other. I stayed at Harrahs also in Reno and it was a good resort but again, idk much about the Squaw Valley.

Does anyone know if Caesars will do a tier status match again this year (outside of Wynham)? It appears that they were matching MGM also in 2019... Which is what I need

It's been awhile since I paid any attention to skiing, but Squaw was generally considered a more expert kind of ski place. They will have green/blue runs because every ski place does, but just not as many as other places. No idea about Sierra Ski. The big name around Tahoe is Heavenly. You can theoretically walk to the gondola from Harvey's, but you probably won't want to in ski boots. You maybe could take a cab though. The nice thing about Heavenly is it has some altitude. Most Tahoe ski places are quite a bit lower, where the snow melts quickly and re-freezes. I guess that's the "Sierra cement" phenomenon.
