Is there a way to easily know which restaurants will not charge double rewards points? Or is it some sort of psychological warfare?

Question on why I’m getting almost 0 comps,

I travel to Vegas approximately 6 times a year, trips on average last 2.5 nights

I play approximately 8 hours of poker and 1.25 hrs of table games per day

Most recent trip played 2 hours of 50 minimum blackjack @Caesars Palace, only assuming I would acquire offers or more tier credits (clueless on how tier credits work)

Always stay at Caesars properties as I do have the Caesars Credit Card that boosts me up to Platinum automatically

Only have 6k tier points on the year

The best offer I have for any weekend night at a Caesars property is $24 at Bally’s in December and minimum Caesars Palace now charges me is $238 for any weekend night

Am I doing Vegas wrong on a comps level? Thank you for any help

2 hours of $50 blackjack is not much at all. Witness the number of tier credits you got. It might have cost you a lot of money, which is why I don't play blackjack, but it's not a big tc earner. They do like video poker and slots, which is why the first 100 pages of this thread are all about those.

At the two recent seven star events, while talking to guests the overwhelming majority of people were middle aged or older people that grinded out slots or some video poker who appeared to be upper middle class. Very few were table games players. Based on my limited experience talking to friends that played for what would be for me life changing money at table games, they still rarely received more than a free room. Just anecdotal but one of my buddies was playing 20 hours of blackjack at 500 a pop for a weekend, he did not make diamond based on that weekend.

If you play slots or video poker you definitely can make it a break even proposition with promos and getting higher status but it almost certainly is not worth it at table games unless you are a great card counter and everything else that goes along with not getting kicked out.

Fwiw I am just a seven star based on online poker

Also, as a table-game player for the last 10 years, I feel like CAESARS/el dorado has become stingier doling tier points in recent months.

Wow 7 star just from online poker, I grind the MTTs hard and just eeked out Diamond Plus, I assume you must be a cash grinder ?

Something is wrong here. I play 100bj and 50 pass line craps plus 2 come bets and they throw all kinds of stuff at me.

This is... not much, by Vegas premium strip resort standards. I don't do CET properties anymore, but IIRC the last time I did I averaged around 500 a hand at the tables for several hours, and that got me free basic rooms with minimal food/freeplay offers.

A lot of it is just trial and error, as comp policies are constantly changing. You could always put in a couple hours at a few different resorts to see what kind of teaser offers they respond with. You might have better luck with the mid-tier properties (TI, Sahara, Palms, when they reopen) at that level of action.

Instead of 1.25 hrs of table games per day, do your entire table game play for your trip in one day. You are much better off putting all of your play on one day as you get comps based on how much action you give the casino per day that you play there. I don't know if 2 hours of $50/hand minimum blackjack will create any offers in Vegas though (especially at Caesars Palace). That's like... in the range of average touristy levels.

Found out on my trip last week that my Diamond match through the Wyndham credit card doesn't include the celebration dinner. :/.

When did you match?

I started becoming a diamond member a few years back solely from the match (through Hilton AMEX card) and I've used the celebration dinner twice I think.

Has anyone heard anything about the match working again in 2022?

Does anyone have any creative ways to spend the celebration dinner credit on items I can take home with me?

The idea of sitting at a restaurant right now makes me a bit uneasy, personally speaking.

Questions for people that know how Caesars does multipliers on tier credits.

There's a 5x multiplier promo coming up Dec 23 - Dec 25. There's also the standard 3x multiplier for earning 2500 or 5000.

My main question is do the multipliers work together and, if so, what does the math look like? ie. If I earn 2500 do I get a boost to the limit of 5,000 for a total of 25K plus? Or 5x + 3x for 8x? Or you only get one deal or the other?

My additional questions are, if I want to pick up at least 16K tier credits playing video poker, what's my least -EV play at the Las Vegas properties? Estimated hours at whatever stake I would need to play? I'm semi-fast - probably 70% as fast as the guys that are moving as fast as humanly possible. Stakes? Best Pay Tables? I'm ok w/ JoB or DDB. Could memorize strategy for other games if needed though.

Thanks in advance,
MDM

Not sure on the first question but as far as I know the best VP odds are the 9/5 JoB machines in the Ballys hi limit room. There were two of them against the back wall towards the right as you walk in last time I was there.

I was just at the TR desk the other day when the rep was talking my head off about the 12/23 promo. It’s a 5x and according to her it doesn’t stack. Gl

Generally, single day tier credit bonuses are separate from tier multiplier bonuses.

Earning 2500 tier credits in one day should leave you with a total of 17500 tier credits when all bonuses are applied. (2500x5 + 5000 daily bonus).

Don't expect to earn a single day bonus based on your multiplied tier credits. Otherwise you could get 7500 tier credits by earning just 500 tier credits in one day.

And finally, keep an eye on the cap on the promotion. Most of the time you'll max out the promotion at 5000 tier credits (Resulting in 20000 bonus from the 5x promotion, and 10000 bonus from the single day tier credit bonus, if all the play was on one day). So while one could get 35000 tier credits in one day by playing 5000 tier credits of coin, you won't be able to repeat this the next day. Basically, don't expect to get seven stars from a single promotion like this.

Is it possible to get seven stars from playing wsop.com? It seems like you need to rake $75k if my math is correct, or about 6k/month. Not sure if there’s enough tables running to hit that number

7 stars isn't automatic
even if you get 150k tc they still have to approve you and might not

Similar to above, is CET drastically cutting back on comps? I haven’t had to pay for a room at pretty much any property (occasionally Nobu would have required something) for a few years, and now I’m checking random dates (that shouldn’t be super busy) and have to pay at every spot. I hit Diamond every year on play alone over a couple trips (Diamond plus from 2020), and even combined with my wife (who hit Diamond plus in one trip) I don’t have comps. The only thing I can think of is we haven’t been since March, but that was a pretty gambling heavy trip. MGM has rooms for me and I never stay at their properties, but maybe it’s time to switch.

I bet it's some kind of glitch. I haven't played in I don't know how long, buy my Diamond from FC, and I'm showing the usual comp rooms. Just no weekends. I bet if you log out and back in, or do it from a browser if you're using the app, you'll be back to normal.

Were you already planning to be in Las Vegas during that time? If not, I'd consider picking a different market to run this promo. In the past I would recommend Harrah's Lake Tahoe. I still recommend it, but it's quite possible that Reno is now the best market, if the vpFree2.com website is accurate. That's assuming that all the VP there is $10/tier credit. It might not be.

Apparently getting the food from the restaurant doesn't bother you? You could get expensive booze and pour it into a flask like leon. Or if you just don't want to eat in a restaurant, find one that lets you get the food for takeout, and eat it your room. That's what I did during WSOP, scroll up a few poasts.

I think those are 1 tc for 50 coin-in, but others may know for sure.

From what I'm told it's all based on ADT now. I'm seven stars and don't get comp rooms.
