I know you can't go back in time, but the vegas one a couple months ago had a $400 credit also, but the welcome gift was some white hat that you might see Trump wearing on the golf course and two dildo-looking things that are allegedly wands that you can use to zap coronavirus. They also had some macaroons, which is the only thing redeeming the time it takes to ride that long ass escalator at Caesars to go pick up the gift.

Not Las Vegas related, but Diamond related:

The wife and I recently did a trip to Reno and Lake Tahoe.

"The Row" properties are partly converted from the Caesars/El Dorado merger, so you get your Caesars status level matched to a "Caesars Rewards Local" card. The El Dorado has a small Diamond Lounge with free drinks but no food. I think it's only open on weekends.

The Lake Tahoe lounges are not open yet, but diamond and higher can print four drink tickets a day from the kiosks. Seven Stars also gets a $10 food ticket. It's worth noting that my wife, who has diamond from Founders Club and had close to zero tier credits last year ALSO got four drink tickets per day. That's in contrast to Las Vegas, where you would need Diamond Plus to qualify for the daily free drink credits.

Also, while the drink ticket value in Tahoe is only $12, the drinks are generally less expensive there than in Las Vegas. They also let us apply the $12 towards more expensive drinks and just pay the difference. In Las Vegas, the value of the drink credits is up to $20, but you couldn't use it towards a $21 drink. Tickets in Lake Tahoe were good at casino bars and all Caesars owned restaurants, plus Starbucks.

The tickets expire 24 hours after being printed, so on days that we didn't use all our tickets we ended up using the remainder the morning after at Starbucks.

On one night we ate at the Gordon Ramsey Hell's Kitchen Lake Tahoe, and used all eight drink tickets to cover six drinks ($91 off the bill), plus the $10 food credit, and two $100 Celebration credits. This put us slightly over the bill so we tacked on one T-Shirt from the merchandise desk, which then left the bill at $1.02. Plus tip.

Here's some pics from the dinner at Hell's Kitchen Lake Tahoe.

First Round of Drinks

Shrimp Cocktail Appetizer

Second Round of Drinks

We each ordered the Prix Fixe dinner, which was a scallop appetizer, a wellington entree, and a toffee pudding dessert. She added a lobster tail to her entree. Somehow I failed to get a pic of the toffee pudding.

Side Dish

Dessert Drinks -- Chocolate Martini, Espresso Martini

Thanks for the TR Karma. I'm diamond and got the 4 free drinks at Harrah's Lake Tahoe. It doesn't work at Harvey's, you have to cross the tunnel in to Harrah's

Well, you can do one or the other but not both on the same day. I'm certain that on this trip we printed out coupons from both the Harrah's side and the Harvey's side.

A little late to the party...

Plan to go to Vegas for 15-20 days+ to grind poker next month. It will be my first time there as a 21 yr old. I don't have any players cards/rewards etc.

I have a friend who's Diamond Tier for Ceasers and gets five nights in a row free etc. That sounds good to me! Is that hard to achieve? Tips on doing so efficiently? I found this pdf which seems helpful but I dunno:

https://www.caesars.com/content/dam/...pbook-july.pdf

thanks!

Comp rooms are not directly related to tier status, but rather to volume of play, mostly in the gaming pits (blackjack/roulette/craps/baccarat). But status offers some perks, like waived resort fees.

You can achieve tier status levels through a LOT of poker: In a nutshell, Caesars properties offer 17 or 34 tier credits per hour for poker play. You need 4000 for Platinum status, 12000 for Diamond, and 20000 for Diamond Plus. If you do the math, that's plenty of hours, and you're not likely to achieve it in one 2- or 3-week trip.

Just focus on having fun and trying out a variety of rooms at different casinos, so you can get a feel for where you fit into the Vegas poker scene. And unless you already know Vegas from prior trips as a minor, don't just grind poker. Get around and enjoy! You'll probably be a repeat visitor.

diamond is nearly impossible to achieve thru poker @ 17pts/hr.
one of the vegas poker rooms (caesars?) offers 34pts/hr.
but even at 34pts/hr, it's difficult. maybe go during tier multiplier days?

since caesars vegas nerfed all their good video poker, i dont know of an efficient way of getting diamond there anymore.

and if you're trying to get tier status, diamond is the one to get because it waives the stupid ripoff resort fees.
else dont bother even trying.

you can get the free credit card to be permanent platinum and waive the parking fees.

"you can get the free credit card to be permanent platinum and waive the parking fees."

AFAIK it isn't permanent platinum with Caesars for getting the CC. You get moved back down to gold unless you qualify with tier or spend a bunch on the CC.

With MGM it is permanent to the level of free parking with CC as long as you keep card active.

Did not know that. They never send me email promos. Probably because I never go into MGM joints.

You can become Diamond almost immediately with Founder's Card. That won't help with free rooms though. Whether it's worth it or not depends on if you plan to stay at Caesars properties for the 15-20 days you plan to be there. If yes, then it will pay for itself with saved resort fees. You also get a $100 Diamond Celebration dinner credit to help with determining if it's worth it. If you plan to stay somewhere else or off strip, then it may not be worth it for you. There are some matching opportunities too if you are high status level at some hotel chains.

Thanks for the input guys.

It’s more of a “business” trip, so the entertainment angle isn’t too important. I plan to play mostly at Bellagio, Wynn, and Aria.

I’ll look into MLife status as well then..

If you add your friend as a companion you could get his comped rooms for a long reservation and you'd just need him there for check in. I'd pay him to to come to vegas with you for the first weekend.

The Diamond member needs to be the one making the reservation, the lower tier gets added as companion

comenity bank has always had a really subpar website, technologically speaking. they didnt even allow for autopay up until maybe 3-4 years ago. Any way to nickel and dime ya.

i think im going to cancel the card since it provides zero value... and maybe swap over to the Mlife one.

Sometimes people are interested in the promotions out there. I got my hands on the matrix for the Apple Promotion going on right now. You can see the various free offers that different tiered players ger as well as the TCs required for each tier to play up for nicer gifts.

Good stuff, thanks for posting. I'm curious about the "criteria" row. Is that the player's theoretical loss?

Couldn't say for sure, but yes I do believe it is ADT, although they're labeling it as HV, which I assume is something akin to house value.
