Alright, here's this week's diamond free drink pics.
We are lamenting the removal of Vanderpump from the deal. Honestly, it's hard to describe how much it sucks that that was taken off. Looking closer at the Caesars picture, it appears that they have added Nobu to the list of restaurants for a $10 food credit. I've never gone there and spent less that $400, so, that's like a 2.5% off coupon for dinner. But I guess if you just want like one roll you could cover most of that. I don't see myself using that one though.
With Paris opening yesterday, the first stop was to check out what they were offering in lieu of a lounge, and this is what we found:
... nothing listed.
So, we went back over to Caesars. I'm under the impression, but could possibly be mistaken, that you can order any drink up to $20, but you cannot order a drink over $20 and pay the difference. That eliminates every cocktail at the Vista lounge.
So, we went to the Alto Bar at Caesars. It borders on the casino floor, opposite Searsucker and near where some of the Omnia lines would be. There were some people at the bar, and one large group on couches, and that was about it. We took a couch in an empty section and got one Molly's Margarita and one Elixir of Life. I almost forgot to snap pics, so they started out full but aren't full in this pic:
They were fine. But the idea that they were the same price as the drinks at Vanderpump seems almost offensive.
So for the other two drink credits we opted for frozen margarita type drinks from the Spanish Steps bar outside. It was on the way to Bellagio, and I wanted to check out how the reopened room looked with the plexiglass barriers.
She got the "You're My Boy Blue" and I got the "Casa Blanca", and they were both very good, especially given the early evening Vegas weather. We got the 16 oz ones, as the 24 oz ones have risen to $22.99. I asked about getting those and paying the difference, but no dice. I'm not sure if it's not allowed or they just couldn't figure out how to process it, but I suspect the former.
Overall, I miss Vanderpump already. But really, I want some kind of Lounge back. I wish they'd at least throw something decent to the Seven Stars guests. I really miss being able to get unlimited free drinks off of the casino floor.
