I've been playing some pai gow at $20-25/hand to get the badges. It seems to take an average of about 45 minutes to get 25 TCs, but it's very inconsistent.

Also, Ballys has some slots in the high limit room that pay double TCs. I imagine the payout is probably terrible, but you only need $63 coin-in to get the badge.

Yeooww! That's a lot. Sounds like you have to put three or four grand into action. I may just say the hell with table games.

Or play the don't for $10 a bet. Wonder if I can get 25tc in under an hour.

I'm inclined to go the other way to minimize variance, and play quarters. The vp pay tables are worse, but how many full houses am I going to get?

Where are you getting $3-$4k from? You can easily play $20/hand pai gow for an hour on a buy-in of $200 and you'll go broke very very rarely. Remember that half the hands are chops. And the game is much slower than something like blackjack or baccarat.

Which games are these? Are they games marked?

I figured 3 hands a minute, most of which I would probably lose. I can easily lose 8 of 10 blackjack hands playing basic strategy. I've done it several times, odds be damned.

.
3 minutes/hand is probably a closer estimate than 3 hands/minute (assuming you play at a mostly full table). And you only actually lose the hand about 30% of the time. The odds of losing 8 out of 10 are extremely slim.

I know nothing about pai gow, not even sure I'm spelling it right. The table games in general are unappealing because they probably don't submit your results until the end of the day. You won't know if you're short the 25tc until it's too late to make up the shortfall. Do the pit bosses submit the stuff at the end of their shift or the end of the day? I wonder if I'll be able to check a slot for tc earned during the day.

Yes, you can check it a few minutes later. Actually the best things to do is ask the Total Rewards desk. I don't know why you'd think they don't submit until the end of the day; this is all updated electronically in real time.

I'm headed to Vegas on 7/4. I plan to play craps like I normally do, buy in for $300, play for an hour or so and then go swipe my card in a slot machine to see how many TC's I've earned. My earlier trip in January, I earned over 1,300 TCs in less than 10 hours on the ground (and i only lost $125). I was chasing TC's on their previous quest, concentrating on getting TC's in slot machines and also playing craps. I was surprised that I ended up with so many TCs but I wasn't trying to track the table games. I want to get back to Diamond again this year, and this quest could help but won't get me all the way. I really need to get 2,500 TCs in a day and get the 5,000 TC bonus. I'd hate to do that and this quest and end up with more TC's than I need, cause that will mean I wasted time/energy chasing this quest. I guess i'll track the first craps session and if 2,500 doesn't seem attainable, i'll go after the quest.

If you literally sprint to the kiosk to check your points after you've colored up and left the table, you'll still probably see the updated total.

They are in the high limit slot area and marked very prominently as "2X Reward Credits" (they actually give you 2x TCs as well).

2 tc's for $5 coin-in?
that's 1tc for $2.50 coin-in.
lets say the slot machine is 90% return thus 10% house edge.
cost per TC = 2.50 x .1 = $0.25

vs a 99% vp game (1% house edge) that's 1tc for $10 coin-in.
cost per tc = 10 x .01 = $0.10

vp still wins out

Except the only CET casino in Vegas that has 99% VP paying 1 TC/$10 is Rio.

That said, I don't imagine these slots are the best EV way to get 25 TC. But for a person who doesn't play much VP, they are likely the easiest.

planet Hollywood
double stp version of 9/5 JoB
99%

but it doesn't matter.
you just need to beat the $0.25 per tc cost of those 2x tc slot machines.
breakeven is any vp thats 96% return (4% house edge).

you can EASILY find a 98% return vp at any caesars property in Vegas at 1tc = $10 coin-in.

edit:
ahh.. u ninja edited your post.. lol.
yes, those 2x tc slots would be easiest if the person doesn't play vp

As I implied, I don't play table games. Total Rewards didn't exist the last time I played a table game. In fact the CET/Harrah's conglomerate didn't exist. There's human judgement involved, yes? I figured it would slow down the process.

It's crazy so much table play is required for a measly 25tc. On a dollar slot machine it might be 5 minutes.

Yup, that's what I did. I was really hoping for a summer promo like last year. When it wasn't announced by the end of May I bit the bullet and donked enough vp for 2500tc in a day. The good part is I only need a little over 2k for Diamond again, the bad part is it would probably have been a lot cheaper to get there via this promo than the route I took.

Caesars is currently matching VIP status from many casinos up to diamond.

I'm not going to fight too much over this, and it might have changed, but at least two years ago I am pretty confident it was NOT updated in real time. At that time I cared quite a bit about my TCs, and would play for hours at the tables, check my card, and it wouldn't be added. In fact, I recall a pit boss telling me it didn't update automatically. Again, that could have changed.

I need 6,000 Tier credits to diamond, I assume my best option is get 2,500 in a day and get the 5kbonus ? So basically what's my best option to get that 2500 without losing 1k+

Your best option is to do this new quest for rewards, as long as you don't mind putting the time in. You only need 450 total TCs to earn the bonus of 5,400.

TCs are updated with pit play once the pit boss closes out your session. This is the case for me with my play at Horseshoe Baltimore, but I would think it's the same for any other facility. If the pit is slow in closing sessions, you won't see an update in TCs fast.

Maybe I'll just ask the pit guy how much play I would need for 25tc.

You're most likely going to get a version of "It depends on your average bet and how long you are playing. And then the computer uses a formula I don't know."

I can get people to platinum pretty easily within a few days and then you can tier match to diamond. Taking offers.
