For now, yes. I would like to write/podcast more in the future. I have basically eliminated poker. I've played once in the past few months and it was just for fun with a friend when I happened to be on the strip for other reasons.
While I'm pretty happy to have that be the case, the result is that I don't really have anything that seems worth saying on here or in a podcast. I tried recording more episodes about a month ago and all that came out was personal life ramblings that I can't imagine most people being interested in and that I wouldn't want out in public anyways.
I'm finally in a place mentally in which I no longer consider taking the path of least resistance and falling back into poker as a career option. I'm ready for my next pursuit, whatever it may be. I'm fortunate to be in a position that gives me some (but not too much) time to properly figure out what that will be. I don't know what it is yet, but with poker now being as mentally eliminated as it already was practically, I feel I am heading in the right direction. I like writing and podcasting so its a pretty good bet that whenever I do start really pursuing something else the way I did poker that I'll be writing about it. If that's not here I'll be sure to drop in so those who are interested in hearing about it even its not poker-related can find it.
Thanks for reading.

Re: cushlash in Vegas; TLDR
i mean if you improve at the game with study and move up from 2/5 higher cap games where annual earnings would be say 35-75k depending on game, variance and skill level, then start playing 5/10-10/20 your earnings would be 100k+

Pros that might be making 75k now playing 2/5 probably average less than half that over the course of their "careers". Cush might be a little bitter over his results (compared to some of his buddies) but I guarantee cush makes more money life time than they do if he chooses a real career.
2/5 and 5/T "pros" are bums in real life with no work ethic

Good stuff. Another thing that recreational don't like is to be forced to make a big decision and be wrong. They don't want to look bad in front a group of people. People are social creatures and it's hard to believe it but we do care what people think to some degree.
BTW, I hope you are staying away from those cookies during the lockdown.

Re: cushlash in Vegas; TLDR
Good points. Nice to hear from you.
At this time I am not sure what is going to happen with live poker. For the reasons that you discussed it was already dying out and now with the casinos on hold and travel as well to some extent, I expect that poker will return to what it was like before the Moneymaker effect (e.g. a handful of games being played with a handful of players).

Re: cushlash in Vegas; TLDR
Great article, cush. I agree completely. When I started playing poker seriously (not pro), there was only fixed limit, and the games were great. I could make money while having a good time with my table mates.
I'm not suggesting eliminating NL; it is still a good game. Unfortunately, everyone sees that as "that's what poker is". Rec players want to play "with the big boys", probably because that's what is on tv, even though they would be better off playing fixed limit.
I have always favoured the philosophy of the shepherd over that of the wolf.
