Re: cushlash in Vegas; TLDR
Thanks for the run good wishes guys!
Made day 3. Today was a long day. Started off red hot and was up over 200k by the 3rd or 4th level of the day. Pretty much coasted from there, hovering between 200 and 300k the rest of the way, bagging 259k.
Restart at 3pm tomorrow, gotta get some sleep now.

Re: cushlash in Vegas; TLDR
As has been reported, busted 139th for 8.8k payout. Sick run, just couldn't get anything going today, never had more than 400k and mostly hovered between 200 and 300k. I had basically the same stack for like 10-12 straight levels which is absurd that that's even possible but this tournament was so deep.
Missed one pretty obvious shove spot late and certainly didn't play perfect but I have no regrets and am extremely happy with how I played. I really thought I'd be more pissed when I busted but I'm happy with my performance so I wasn't too disappointed.
I loved the structure of this particular tournament, but tbh its the only one I'd be even remotely interested in playing in the future (along with ME obv). The edge it gives cash players is crazy. Once things get short though its pretty tedious and if you take away all the levels that I got to play deep against fish and tourney regs who don't know how to play deep I'd be much less interested and it wouldn't be worth my time.
Anyways I'm exhausted from 3 days of this tournament stuff so I'm gonna go to bed. Taking the day off tomorrow and back to cash after. I may post more thoughts regarding my tournament and stuff I noticed in general but for now just wanted to let everyone know my result.
Probably won't be doing too much in the way of hh's since I don't remember much from previous days and today was mostly standard. Since everyone always wants to hear the bustout hand, Ill share that:
In the 5th hand after moving to a new table its folded to me in the CO with K 8 and I shove my 10bb stack. The bb calls with A9o. Flop K65, Turn A, River 5.

Field was soft as hell. Structure favors good players, but everyone who sucks (99% of poker players) thinks they're awesome so they think the structure favors them when really it kills them. The number of times I heard straight up fish refer to a table/tournament as "soft" was laughable.
I ran into exactly 0 players I would call a sicko in this tournament.
Was talking with Rob and he said that if any one of his tournament tables were a 5/10 cash game he would never leave and I completely agree.

Well at least you basically have your ME buying as a result. There are many of us who would take that.

Re: cushlash in Vegas; TLDR
yeah all the monster stack tables i played at were extremely soft. Side note: talked to cushlash towards the middle/end of day 1 and he told me "I'm probably going broke in the next 15 minutes." Nice prediction there buddy. Only about 7000 places off your guess.

I have thought about this (mostly evil hypothetical thoughts) but the chances I just roll this into the ME are very slim. Having an extra 7.3k than I had before this tournament does not make it a good decision to buy in. I still will probably play a couple 1k satellites but I was going to do that regardless of my result here. This does make it more likely I'll actually play the satellites though.

Haha yea that was probably right before the last level when I had 17k going to 400-800. I'm glad to have been wrong in this case, but funny enough 15 minutes later I got it in flipping and won so roughly 50% of the time I would have been right I don't remember this conversation though, who are you irl?

Re: cushlash in Vegas; TLDR
Nice run cush!
I guess WSOP didn't have a good feeling about Monster Stack event, they didn't even plan for a Flight B when their initial schedule came out. I am pretty sure this would become a regular event from now on.
Are you playing another tournaments besides ME?

I'm probably not even playing the ME. Will play between 0-3 satellites depending on what I feel like doing. Most likely will play one and see how the structure is and decide from there if I want to play more assuming I don't spike the first one.
Besides that no, not playing any other tournaments. The only reason I played this one was because of the deep structure. I have close to 0 interest in regularly paced tournaments.

Re: cushlash in Vegas; TLDR
Hey guys, took off a couple days after the Monster Stack and have played a couple cash sessions since. Both were relatively short sessions, one big win, one small loss, not much to speak of.
Played the 1k mega satellite today, bricked after about 3 hours. Couldn't get anything going in the deeper levels so had about a starting stack of 6k when we started level 6. Ran AK into AA for most of my 13bb stack and was down to 2.5bb. Next hand pick up 99 and again run into AA. I would make a flush and win that hand though. Next hand pick up 77, shove my ~8bb and get called twice by 44 and TT. No sets and TT holds.
So clearly not as favorable of a structure as the Monster Stack. I really don't want to fire any more of these either because we are only deep for a few levels. 2-3 hours in its already a shove fest with 10-20bb stacks. This is pretty much par for the course for tournaments and is fine if thats what you want, but I was only playing to get into the ME because I like the deep structure.
After playing the Monster Stack I'd really like to play the ME (in b4 cushlash being results oriented) because of the deep structure. Normal structure tourneys don't really interest me from a financial or entertainment standpoint but seeing the advantage a deep structure gives cash players makes me really want to play.
On that note, against my personal "no selling action" rule, I'm considering selling action for the ME. I wanted to gauge interest here to see if I could sell enough. Would sell up to 50% at 1.2, let me know if interested. I know this is last minute but just throwing it out there.

Re: cushlash in Vegas; TLDR
Sold out for main event. Was very surprised at how fast it sold/that it sold out at all.
Excited to be playing though, first ME ever!
