Honestly you want to know what changed my life?

Opti-men multivitamins, I feel like I'm on crack all day. They are loaded with b vitamins and amino acids etc. I take three a day and it changed my life. I'm pretty sure you can find them at any health store.

Cush if you're looking to do some serious workouts, feel free to join me at LVAC. I know we talked about it awhile back, but it never really got off the ground.

I alternate cardio days with weight lifting and I can definitely feel the difference being in shape vs not being in shape. I mean, not that I'm gonna be going to the NFL combine anytime soon, but you get the idea. LMK.

Thanks, I'll have to check them out.

Thanks but I kinda like doing my stuff at home as I'm not really a gym person. Got a bunch of home workout dvd's. Paying for a gym membership sounds meh as long as what I'm doing is working.

Re: cushlash in Vegas; TLDR

Well guys I got back into Vegas today. It was really nice to be home for a while and see some family and friends. I only played one session of poker while back so it was also a nice break from that. With that being said, I'm excited to be back at the grind tomorrow. Will be updating soon.

Also, shout out to MSchu for the ride to and from the airport, I really appreciate it.

The key to working out is doing them when you wake up.

You get it out of the way and make sure nothing details it. It only happens when you make it a priority in your life.

If the game is juicy? Stay. Because you already went to the gym.

Friend wants to go grab food? Go. Because you already went to the gym.

It has its benefits. Namely every off duty stripper and cocktail waitress seems to work out at LVAC. I've met a few lovely ladies there, so the $20/month is well worth it.

Re: cushlash in Vegas; TLDR

Alright guys, back to the grind the last couple days at the V. There has been great action with the deepstack series going on and I'm seeing lots of unfamiliar faces. They have also been getting a table or two of PLO lately, but for a few reasons I haven't sat at it. First is that yesterday when I got there is was short handed so I just played holdem and today it hadn't even started yet. I have thought about whether or not I was gonna play it consistently while its around and right now I'm thinking I won't. The 2/5 games are so good that hourly-wise its probably a wash, and the PLO game is only going to be around for as long as the deepstack is going, which ends the 17th. And looking long term, if this month goes well I could be taking my first 5/10 shot as early as December, and I really want to keep trucking with that. Still might play the PLO game if its really good or if I feel like switching it up but I'll probably stick to holdem for the most part.

Definitely been on a different sleep schedule the last couple days due to spending a week in central time and then coming back to pacific. I kinda like it because it has gotten me on an earlier schedule, but now its a bit too early so if I could move it back about an hour or two over the next week that would be ideal.

Yesterday I got to the V and was sent to table 5. So I go there and sitting it seat 7 is none other than the 3rd place finisher of the 2008 main even, Dennis Phillips. These smaller tournament series' in between the WSOP seem to bring a lot of these guys out of the woodwork, as I saw Eric Baldwin roaming around as well. Phillips ended up playing another few hours before leaving and he seemed like a really nice guy. 2/5 is a tiny game for him so I'm assuming he was just killing time after busting the tourney or something but still really interesting to play with him. I also had a really good session and was happy that there didn't seem to be any rust to shake off after the time off. Nothing really of note but I had a nice win.

Today started off much the same as I built a really good winning image and chipped up a bit in the beginning. I was really feeling good but then I lost 3 sizable pots in basically 1 orbit and it really killed my momentum. There was a guy who was playing pretty tight but just owned me in about 4 pots. I'm pretty confident I just was running into him because the only hands he showed down were premiums and he only 3-bet 4 times but all but 1 was against me. I have a couple small spots I'm going to have to look at but nothing major and overall I'm pretty happy with my play, just went cold in a lot of spots during the second half of my session.

I hope your roll is sufficient, and you are prepped for 5/10.

I've enjoyed this thread since the beginning, and you seem like an alright guy: I hope you you have your lines down, crush it and make it happen.

I'm a huge BR nit so no worries there. As far as prep, I feel ready to give it a shot once I reach my BR goal. Also prepared to move back down if I lose initially.

Where are there 5/10 games in Vegas?

I've been randomly looking at Bravo and don't ever see any at Venetian even with the series going on.

When you take shots your obviously going to have to hop over to Bellagio or Aria right?

Yea well when I left last night there were 2 5/10 games going but without the deepstack its pretty spotty. Aria usually has 1-2 and Bellagio will have 2-4. Other than that its just the occasional games at Wynn and Venetian and very rarely Red Rock. Since by the time I take my shot the deepstack will be over, I'll probably go to Bellagio for 5/10 at first just because they get the most games and the 1500 cap makes it softer from what I've heard.

Clearly. I hadn't even been opening that much since I was pretty card dead so its not like he was adjusting or some crap. This type of thing happens now and then and its one of the most frustrating things imo. I just always want to level myself into thinking someone is adjusting to me because folding seems so weak, but in reality 99% of players are just playing their hands and I just happen to be running into their big hands. Have definitely burned money playing back in this situation before.

we all have buddy. I think that is mainly my issue during this downswing... playing back and not having a player sophisticated enough to know something might be up. It does work against some players, but not all.

I think there is a real disconnect between outplaying/wanting to outplay someone and just making money... the two do not always merge.

Because of this I have started to force myself to wake up if I get up past a certain time instead of just going back to bed. I think getting on a regular workout schedule also helps because it makes my sleep better and therefore I get more rested. I think I have gotten better with this recently.
I think that a regular exercise schedule combined with a healthy diet will help the sleeping patterns. Also, it might be a good idea to not go to bed until at least an hour after your poker session.

aria and bell almost always have 5/10
the W and the V are catch as catch can... if you check the V at night there should be one. If you checked when you posted (at 9am) i would say almost never.
Casears occasionally gets one going if something is going on.
MGM and the orleans if the stars are aligned right one might go off

cant think of any other place where ive ever seen it run (except the rio during the series ldo)

Re: cushlash in Vegas; TLDR

Last week, or two weeks ago I guess.. when Caesars was running thier tournament series we had higher stakes games going every night, $2/5/10 un-capped. One afternoon the game was soooo good that I ended up playing all night and half the next day until the game broke, LOL

Last February when they hosted a WSOP circuit event the cash games on the upper deck we're unbelivably good, and very deep. The placard on the table says $2/5, and we had the mandatory staddle making it a 2/5/10, but these are un-capped games and can play very large. As the tournament players bust out they come over to play the side [cash] games, several players sat w/ 4 bundles behind, the smallest stacks on the tables are in the $2k range.

Soooo, Caesars is hosting another WSOP circuit event in few months, a dam fine time to play deep $2/5 (un capped)...that really plays like a mid-stakes game. See ya there

Re: cushlash in Vegas; TLDR

Hey guys, just finished up another session. With the time change Sunday I've been getting up even earlier so now my schedule is really messed up. Started my session at 1 yesterday and 2 today. With the deepstack going on its not really a problem and I've found good action regardless.

Both of my sessions were pretty up and down. Yesterday started off decent but I lost my stack with AA against 33 when he flopped his set and just called the whole way and let me value own myself. Pretty sure I talked about this before but just in case, value own is when I'm value betting with a worse hand than my opponent is holding. Its still profitable because he will call with worse hands more often than he will have better hands but this particular time he had one of the better ones. I rebought and chipped up a bit before getting stacks in against the same guy preflop with AA against his AK. Pretty funny how that turned out. Won a bit more from there and booked a good win.

Today started pretty bad as my QQ was no good against KJ on a Q9T board. We got it in on the A turn and the river failed to improve me. A failed double barrel semi-bluff a few hands later had me in for my full stop loss. A semi bluff is betting with a hand that you know isn't good now but had outs, such as a flush draw or straight draw. This way you win if your opponent folds, but if they call you can also win if you hit your draw. Double barrel just means I bet the flop and turn. I did rebound and got nearly back to even before I lost a big pot when I flopped trips with AJ on an AA654 board. My opponent called a bet on the flop and turn and I value owned myself again, putting her all-in on the river.

With how the session started I thought I was gonna drop my stop loss in less than an hour so I was happy with how I kept playing my game and got in a full session. However, I did have a couple small pots that I played a bit passive where afterwards I thought to myself "the **** was that all about?". There were also few spots that I chose not to cbet where it would have worked, but I still am happy with my decisions. So some good and some bad. Sessions like this keep me on my toes because they show me I definitely still have some things to figure out.

Read the op, newb!!!

Just kidding. 'Lash writes in red for non poker experts. That way ppl back home or whatever don't have to look up jargon, and 2p2ers can just skip the red parts.
