Yes it does... I have moderate anxiety, and besides medication, walks will talk my edge off. I always go on long walks and enjoy life.

Where is the WSOP in town? Some sort of circuit event?

i have enjoyed reading your updates. I will be in vegas on Friday and I am looking forward to playing some high variance PLO. Could you tell me which poker room typically has the most PLO tables?

Cheers.

Aria is most consistent, but lately the V has been getting multiple tables of 1/2 and 2/5 because of DSE. If I were you I'd start there.

Will do thanks for the info and don't be stealing any of my high paying PLO customers.

Hey guys, been a little lazy with the updates lately. I also started realizing that every update recently was more or less the same so I figured it was probably getting a bit boring.

Anyways, finished up the week yesterday, got just over 36 hours, which isn't bad considering I took an extra day off for the Super Bowl. Friday I had played all 5/10, booking a nice win, though it should have been a lot more as I made a pretty big mistake in one hand, opting to lead the river instead of check/shove in a spot where there are a bunch of hands that bet and call the shove but will just call if I bet.

That would actually be the only winning session of the week. Saturday I played a combination of 2/5 and 5/10. The 5/10 game I played at was amazing but I lost the only major pot I was involved in, getting a set all-in on the turn against a flush draw and he hit it.

Took off Sunday for the Super Bowl and then played 2/5 yesterday. Before dinner I was pretty card dead and played one hand bad, so I was down a bit. Then had dinner with RobFarha and on of his roommates here in Vegas who happens to be a poster on here, ico2525. Afterwards we all got back and get on the list for 2/5 and of course they open a new table which starts as us 3 and 2 randoms, great game obv. I was only gonna play a couple hours so I stuck to it, ended up down a little.

With DSE around the games have been fantastic but I haven't been able to capitalize on much of anything. Looking forward to a good week this week, which will hopefully include some good 5/10 games.

I haven't read all of the thread but it's been a pretty good read so far. Did you play much at Dejope here in Madison when you were here? Do you plan on getting a real job anytime soon or sticking with poker for as long as possible?

I played 30+hrs/week there during the summer of 2011 and then sporadically when school was going.

No job plans atm. I made a long post about this a while back but suffice to say that as long as I don't absolutely need to financially, I'll never have a 9-5. I'm planning to build with poker and then invest in stocks/real estate/businesses.

I also played a ton in 2011 I was one of the Ryan V's I think there was a couple of us, I was probably there the most out of the others. What name did you play under?
I took a break for most of last year and now I'm starting to get back into the grind. Pretty cool to read about someone moving on to bigger and better things and making a living through live poker in Vegas.

My name on there was Taylor. I don't remember your name specifically but if you played at all in summer of 2011 I played with you. I won that hours promo where they gave a seat into that $100 donkament to the top 12 people in terms of hours played for the 3 month period from memorial day to labor day. I was 1st, even beat Willie if you remember him.

Alright, took off Tuesday and was back at it this week starting Wednesday. Wednesday and Thursday were all 2/5 and I ended up booking decent wins both days. I got into a ton of spots on Thursday and I'm pretty happy with my play in most of them. Unfortunately both days I struggled at the end of my session in a weird way. My eyes kept wanting to shut as if I hadn't slept in a week but otherwise I felt alert. As a result I had to force them open and then they would start watering and I'd have to shut them for a bit. It really threw me off and kept me out of some great 5/10 action on Thursday because the last thing I want to do when not focused is jump up levels. I still got 7 hours in both days but was a little frustrated with the eye thing.

Yesterday I went to the pharmacy and got some visine drops hoping that would help. I took them right before my session and they worked like a charm. I was able to play a full session without any eye trouble. I guess maybe they were just getting dry or something but I'm glad to have found a solution. I ended up having a decent session in a pretty good 5/10 game, booking a solid win, most of which coming from a couple spots where I got 3 streets of value with essentially one pair. There were still some small stuff I had trouble with but overall a good session.

Quick question - this incident with the eyes made me think about on-going medical care and health insurance availability for a professional poker player. Does something like that exist at an affordable level? Being young and in great shape this is probably not much a factor for you at this point, but I am curious about it in the general sense.

I'm covered on my dads insurance until I'm 26. After that it will get more expensive but I haven't looked into it much.

I sell health insurance for a living, until 2014 at least. For a healthy person in their 20's a good policy should be $100-200/mo. I'm 27 and currently pay $93/mo for my $3,000 deductible HSA plan. Health insurance for young people is going to get a lot more expensive when January 2014 rolls around. Don't want to derail the thread but hope this answers the question.

You're covered on your parent's until you're 26. Thnx Obama. Btw wj, sorry you think you're losing your job in 2014. Shouldn't be the case - just less money in squeezing people, not that that's specifically your doing. The world is slowly becoming a better place.
