For anyone interested in Criss Cross Poker . I just got an email from AGS gaming ( I think they own the game)They just entered Las Vegas Market. They placed Criss Cross Poker tables in Linq and Binions . And they expect to place many more by the time of WSOP.

No you are not playing against the house. You just try to make a payable
hands. I think it’s a better variation of Mississippi Stud.

When I go to AC or Las Vegas I normally play Poker tournaments. And when I have time left I use to play sucker games like let it ride, 3 card Poker etc. Now I
Only play Criss Cross Poker. A really Fun Game for me atleast.

????

http://playags.com/portfolio/criss-cross-poker/

Of course you are playing against the House, it is a house-banked game that's who pays you .... not other players. If you fail, the House gets your money.

This is no different in that regard than blackjack, video poker, slot machines or any other game where you make "X" and the house pays you a prize based upon a payout table. This is "poker" in name only.

Yes it is. And?

That was my conclusion after I read the link. I could see it might be fun played as a split pot dealer's choice low stakes home game. Like I used to play in college, years ago. Maybe.

It's no Guts, of course.

The outlook seems grim to me.

In my opinion it seems too complicated to replace table games like, Let It Ride, Three Card Poker etc. that also use "poker" hands for determining outcomes.

I would be amazed if it is offered for play 3 years on casino floors from now. It cannot compete with slots, video games or othr offerings for floor space beyond maybe a trial period offer to casinos. Maybe WellReadTed can get it for his poker casino floor.

Strategy seems simple. Pity its a 4.33% house edge game though. One of the rare occasions the bonus bet is better than the main game at "only" 3.53% house edge.

I think I'll retract the bolded portion above, having looked at the Wizard of Odds analysis. The game offers a number of decision points each hand, which properly played lower the House Edge to 1.48%

Because the player gets to make so many decisions, and stands to lower his expected loss by proper decisions, the game has more entertainment value built in than I had realized. Sort of Let It Ride on caffeine.

It is popular on East Coast but flopped here. I keep a database of games and have not seen it in Las Vegas since Planet Hollywood uninstalled it about two years ago. I last checked Binion's in January and Linq in December. It was not spread at either or anywhere else in Las Vegas at that time.

You're much better off playing Ultimate Texas Hold'em or Heads Up Hold'em if you want a poker table game.

Thx for your opinion. I have seen the game became popular to overly
popular on east coast. Borgata started with 2 tables . In 3 years they have 6 tables. But I don’t work for any table game company. Nor I am trying to attract
any new customer for them.
I love to play and I know many people visiting Las Vegas from east coast are looking all over Las Vegas for the game.
So who ever interested will find the game now.
I have a friend who is visiting Las Vegas just told me he show the tables at couple casino. He will visit tomorrow again and confirm the names of casino tomorrow.

How does the Heads Up Holdem house table game play?

It's basically the same game as UTH with a few tweaks that give it a smaller house edge, especially if you don't play preflop correctly.

You can only bet 3x preflop. To offset this, there is a bad beat payout for losing a straight or better. You can play the board and still hit the bad beat. It's live at M Resort, Stratosphere and Jerry's Nugget. The minimum at Jerry's is only $2.

Fair enough. Fwiw, I retracted my dire prediction earlier in the thread above.

I played in at Binions at the end of January. It had just been installed the week before. They were still training the dealers on it while I was there. Didn't see it at the Linq but will check again in a few weeks.

I love playing it on the east coast. I played it at PH when it was there, but it never drew a crowd. The tables on the east coast are always crowded. If you like Mississippi Stud, you will like this game.

Can anyone confirm that it is at the Linq?

If it makes the casino money it'll last.
Simple.

Hadn't seen it in New England casinos. Hey, if New Jersey is the East coast, than what are we, chumps by the river?
