Craft Beer at the poker tables/free? Craft Beer at the poker tables/free?

Hey folks!
I'm heading out to Vegas next week and it has been about a decade since I've been so I suspect a lot has changed I'll be staying near the Aria and really love local craft beer. Are there any poker rooms that offer craft beer for free? Back in the day I used to be excited that I could get a Sam Adams at Paris, but my tastes have moved up quite a bit (nothing wrong with Sams though!)

So if I wanted to get a local IPA, or New England IPA, a nice heavy Stout, is there any poker room that offers that for free? Failing that, would that type of beverage be free anywhere in any of the casinos? At Mohegan Sun their race book used to (and may still) had a Micro Brewery in it, so bet on some horses, get free craft beer. That could work too.

If all that fails, any suggestions on best local places to try local selections? Even if I have to, gasp, pay for it? I'm coming from New Hampshire so it is always fun to try something I cannot get out this way.

If there is already a thread that has all this info, please shoot a link. I searched but couldn't find anything. Thanks all!

I don't think you'll be able to get something like a micro brewed local hazy NEIPA. That being said something like Deschutes IPA or equivalent is available.

For a while when the Linq had a poker room you could get beer from TAG bar which had an awesome selection of craft beers. Now both are gone.

Microbreweries

Morning Joe is one of my favorite beers there. It's a coffee flavored Kolsch.

This is downtown as well in the arts district. I've only been once and i was pretty drunk when we got there so I don't remember much.

I haven't been to this outpost but I've had a few of their beers.

When are you going to be in town? I'll be there from 8/22 - 8/24 for a quick weekend trip to celebrate my 40th. PM me if you want to meet up for one if you'll be there at the same time. Good luck and Cheers! Craft Beer at the poker tables/free?

Ellis Island doesn't have poker, but they have brewery inside of their casino. With LVA you get 6 free beers or they're normally $1.50-$2. And a $7 steak meal.

Now THIS is what I'm looking for! What is LVA may I ask and how I do I acquire it?

Even though it’s a chain; Yardhouse(middle of the strip) has some of the best beers you’ll ever see for very reasonable prices during their HH.

Beers are acceptable at Ellis Island but you're not going to find elite New England IPA or stout. LVA is Las Vegas Advisor, if you google it you'll find the book and what it offers. It's not worth just the free drink coupons at Ellis Island but if you make a trip downtown and play through the matchplays and freeplay it's worth it.

Also if you go downtown they have Banger Brewing as well the brewery at Main Street Station, which is solid and has good deals along with Chicago Brewing at Four Queens.

Main Street Station Casino downtown has its own microbrewery. No poker but great video poker at the bar. 5 minute walk to GNugget poker room.

Mandalay Bay used to serve Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA in poker room...not sure if that is current or not.

Last time I was in Vegas last December, Caesars Palace had a special menu of craft beers I believe. They had Saint Archer or something similar because I remember thinking wtf am I drinking 7% beer at the poker table.

i know you can get sierra nevada in a few spots, planet hollywood being one of them. Every now and again if i feel like something different i will just walk up to a nearby casino bar and pay for one. I think the selection can sometimes be a bit different at the actual bars than what you'll get for free in the poker rooms.

Please report back with what you find.

Barleys in Henderson:

I dunno if u can get a free microbrew if u bet (probably not) but they have a small sports book there with a ton of TVs around. also you can go across the street to the ethel m chocolate factory which is a popular local attraction...if u r looking for something uniquely local to go do.

Looks like I should have ordered a Las Vegas Advisor, but I guess I can buy one there or a 2019 American Casino Guide Coupon List. I like the idea of match plays and such! I'm going to try to stick to 4 hour sessions (those are rookie numbers!) and take breaks to do stuff, and these would give me a nice list of "Oh, I'm basically losing money if I don't burn through these match plays, and I better get these 2 for 1 beers and 2 for 1 buffets!". I'm planning on getting a 3 day bus pass and cruising around. 10 years ago I was all about pulling the 10+ hour sessions, well those days are over!

Did they kick you out as soon as you bumped it from like $10 to to $30.

Main Street's brewery is solid, especially their seasonals. One of the local breweries has a location in Gold Coast or Golden Nugget downtown (I forget which) that also has really good Chicago-style pizza. Ellis Island's beer is meh, imo.

At the poker table, Sierra Nevada was usually the best I could do. I remember I got an IPA (regular, not NE) at the table once, but I don't recall where.

Are you talking about Chicago Brewing Company? It’s at the Four Queens.

I was able to order Stone IPA at Palms Casino last year while playing VP. Don't remember what else was available

Lagunitas IPA and Goose Island (both ABInbev?) are widely but maybe not universally available (IME) in Vegas casinos. I've seen Four Peaks Brewing (also ABInbev) schwag around the Strip, but I'm not sure I've seen an actual beer of theirs in the casino, yet (expect the six I brought, of course).

I usually drink IPAs and Excalibur is the only poker room in Vegas where I did not get any. Many places have Lagunitas, Flamingo (and maybe Harrahs) has also Ballast Point Sculpin. Last time I played in Mandalay Bay they had Goose Island.

Somebody mentioned Sierra Nevada and I have had some of those at least in Harrahs.

Sculpin is pretty solid, nice. I really appreciate all these tips. I'm trying to make my trip more casual this time so probably some table drinking, but I don't want "Yah we got all the beers, Bud, and Bud Light! And we've even got that fancy Blue Moon!" I truly love a good craft IPA, and love a good Stout. Keep 'em coming! I'll make sure to report back what I find!

Not that it really matters, but Lagunitas is owned by Heineken.

Haven't seen Four Peaks on the Strip, but they are trying to spread around the country and have posted some solid growth for ABInbev recently. OTOH, Goose Island is doing pretty bad but at least better than Shock Top. FWIW, ABInbev recently purchased Platform Beer Co. after two years without any craft brewery acquisition and an overall flatlining portfolio.

M casino (south of the strip) has 32 Degrees draft bar with like 90 beers on tap. You used to be able to order them from the poker table but their poker room closed years ago. It's been years since I was there but it was a really nice low key mostly locals place.
