Don't mourn, organize.

I used to represent warehouse workers with the Teamsters. I understand what poor working conditions can be, but that is NOT what that protestor was alking about ....

Try doing anything indoors in 114 degree heat.

It is forecast here to be 114+ outside this weekend. At that point, wearing a cotton mask likely is preferable to the direct sun/heat. (There is a reason why nomads wear burnooses, and it is not a fashion statement.)

NoMaskNevada.com ? Bunch of protestors, you watch the video and get an idea of what local politics is like in this State ....

They aren’t required outside, right?

2020, the year I learned that wearing a facemask is an epic hardship on the population. They are the Hindenberg, Holocaust and Titanic of our generation all rolled into one.

Never has there been a people more oppressed than the current day residents of Nevada, ever.

God's speed citizens of Nevada, God's speed.

Good for him. I like that Sisolak is showing some leadership here and making these decisions.

The tracking data on bars as a virus hot-spot must have been pretty horrific.

Expect strict enforcement of masks and distancing in casinos. Drink service will still be allowed at tables, (as with restaurants), but the outlook for remaining open at all is dicey.

Looks grim for the casino industry this summer. I would not sign up for a gym membership just yet either.

Easy for the governor to shut down the gyms. Sisolak looks like he has never set foot in one.

Saw a bunch of workers at the MSG construction site recently and my guess is around 5%-10% of them are wearing masks and they didn’t seem to care about social distancing. Made me feel awkward for wearing one.

Does this mean that people with Nazi/Confederate flags are actually showing their support for the new Holocaust of mask mandates?

I had no idea they were this far ahead of the curve.

Or......no.

Are a lot of people getting flagged for high temp at the resort entrances? I think the cutoff is like 1 degree above 98.6, so it seems like in hot weather and with generally overweight people, quite a few could overheat naturally.

It’s 100.4 I believe. You would likely know you have a fever at that point.

Think if you get picked up for a temperature, they take you off to a sideroom and give you 10/15 minutes to cool down, then test you again.

Not at all surprised that people in Nevada are catching this disease. If you shut the state down and keep the number of cases so low that you don’t really have a phase 1, that makes it much easier for the disease to spread right now after you have opened things up. People don’t want to wear masks and are more complacent than they would have been in March.

Can you avoid having a phase 1 if you don’t shut down until there is a vaccine?

I'd hope a cold drink would be available, would imagine you'd have to make do with a water, though

Per the CDC website - Clark county case rate is 910 per 100,000 or 0.91%. The death rate is 468 out of 20,622 cases which is 2.27%. Factoring in both the fact that it is really hard to catch and even when you do, the survival rate is nearly 98% (and this is not even taking into account the age of each case) leaves us with an overall number of 0.0002, or 99.98% chance of absolutely nothing happening. Yes, cases are skyrocketing along with testing as expected, while deaths have been plummeting nation wide for months and hospitalizations have remained steady for weeks. I just don't really get it!

Clark county has an infected rate of 910 for every 100,000 people. Which is 0.91%. So 99.09% of people are not infected/catching it.

The worst county in Florida is Miami-Dade, the infection rate there is 2.06%. Much higher than Clark, but still almost a 98% chance you will not contract it.

It’s much more likely that the actual infection rate is about ten times higher, and the actual death rate ten times lower (though this death rate will climb over time).
