But hopefully they make allowances given the times we are in.
If the flights are cancelled or you are now not permitted to enter the US on it, I am confident you will get a refund, eventually.

At worst, they might offer an airline credit good fpr 12 months.

I expect every travel company needs to offer refunds of they have a [rayer of your future business after this passes. If they don't and their competitors do, they are dea going forward.

Subbing because we have a trip planned for March 25 through March 31. More worried about parents who are traveling with us. Will probably cancel their trip. Then worried about poker -- that's the only reason we go to Vegas!

Don't say force majeure because most airlines can refuse a refund under those circumstances. Most big airlines choose not to, for pr purposes, but they can if they want to.

Well crap, the PAC12 tournament being played in Vegas, was canceled mid-stream. They played the first round yesterday, and canceled the rest of it. Many universities have canceled sporting events. I can't see how the NCAA can have their tournament, especially after the NBA canceled it's season.

United will allow cancellation for tickets bought after Mar 3, with a credit for 12 months, no penalty. I expect other airlines to follow suit.

Wow, seems as if it should be for tickets bought before March 3; people who bought tickets afterward should have known better!

hey guys, I bought alfight+ package deal from orbitz for first week fo june

if prices are falling ( not sure if they are or not)

Not just the PAC12 tournament (meh, F basketball), but all spring sports until further notice. Man, I live for college baseball.

Related: I think I read MLB is pushing back opening day for (at least?) two weeks, Cactus league games already cancelled. How will this impact baseball futures? All bets are off? Modified based on remaining number of games?

Also, my Apr 2-5 LV trip (band cancelled, poker looks meh?) is looking DOA :-(

The prices haven't fallen nearly enough. Like Bally's is still generally $100+ or $200+ for a weekend night plus resort fees. It's ****ing ridiculous.

Remember after September 11th you could fly to Europe for like $100? This is expected to hit the travel industry even harder than that. Yet, if I go to Southwest.com, most weekdays it would still be $200 roundtrip to fly Dallas to Vegas. In the past decade I've flown to Vegas many times for $100 roundtrip.

what do you guys think my options are?
Contact them and try to get out of it. I would think most places are giving refunds just due to the optics of not giving refunds.

I don’t consider myself the scared type, but it just seems dumb to risk it at this point. Cancelling what I used to call my March madness trip

So I am scheduled to go to vegas from 3/22-3/28 I really dont want to cancel. How foolish is it to just go? I feel like it is more fear mongering and hype than anything else. I'm not saying it's not an issue at all but I'm pretty young, 33, and dont anticipate this being fatal or anything. Am I completely ******ed for likely still going?

Yeah, most likely covid-19 would just kill your parents and/or other old people that you come in contact with. You should be ok but it's quite possible you won't be able to receive any hospital treatment if this blows up big so keep that in mind.

Not ******ed, just unaware of what's going on in the world. You are low risk but needless travel and mingling increases the chance that you catch it or give it to other people. Maybe they'll be strangers or maybe it'll be your parents or grandparents who might not fare so well.

You’re not going to get any trustworthy answers from an online poker forum, but be assured you’re not “most likely” going to kill your parents or other random old people by taking a vacation to Vegas.

I doubt it. In sports venues you have thousands of people sitting in very confined spaces. Casinos can take more steps to mitigate the issue such as allowing only 1 player per table, only keeping certain slot machines open, constant cleaning etc. I have to imagine they will do whatever they can to continue operating in order to cut their losses some.

Sure, it really is just math question. IE, what is the percent chance you get covid-19, what is the percent chance you pass it on to your parents, and how much do you care about whether they suffer and/or die from covid-19.

State of emergency in Nevada. Casinos can now be forced to close whether they want to or not.

You are correct. It's unlikely that anyone will die because he visits Vegas. The real problem lies in that there are millions of people with this same mindset. Many of them are young which means they may not even exhibit symptoms. People will undoubtedly die because of these decisions. That is not debatable.
