I look like Michael Landon and Victor French from Highway to Heaven had a love child who also spent a little too much time working on there golf tan. Even though I live in a modest townhome it's adjacent to very affluent neighborhood of multi million dollar homes where I take my walks. I've had more than a few dirty looks from my WASPy neighbors in particular women walking alone. I try to keep to my distance from everyone these days but will make even more of a point to cross the street and avoid lone women who act the most threatened.
I think I'm much more likely to physically harmed in my neighborhood by one of these neighbors particularly women who feel threatened than by some random young minority or other stereotypical villain.
I went to coworkers house a couple of months back. When I rang the doorbell it took forever for someone to answer the door. When my buddy finally answered he told he was in the backyard and that his wife thought I was some homeless guy from how I looked in there doorbell camera. A day later he sent me an article with a picture of a homeless guy that got run over and a blurry snapshot of me from the doorbell cam. There was an odd resemblance.
Article clipping of homeless man.
