But one has to seriously consider their risk-assessment and will to go back to normalcy, if every new variant is going to be of 'concern' and delay things. The Delta-variant has already delayed reopening plans in several countries, without any evidence that it's more deadly than other variants.
Unless people accept that there will always be Covid-cases and people dying from it, we will never be able to go back to normalcy. But I assume you are willing to mask up and wait it out 'just a little bit longer' in the hopes that it will magically disappear. It's hard to interpret your posts in any other way at least.
All I want is for people to be allowed to take their own risk, like we did for millions of years before this. But sure, make it seem like I'm the insane one for wanting that, even though I'm fully vaccinated and have been following the restrictions for 16 months and counting. What a ****ing joke.
To address your, uh, "points" in order (and to afford your thoughts a dignity they don't really deserve):
1. There is a plethora of evidence that the Delta variant is indeed far more deadly, because it infects far more people and is more easily transmitted. Saying otherwise is like saying a machine gun isn't any more deadly than a pistol because they both fire bullets.
2. I don't hope the virus will "magically disappear." I hope that we will achieve herd immunity. If you've had trouble "interpreting" my posts in this regard, well, then, hire an interpreter, one who can read English.
3. Adhering to covid precautions isn't only about YOU. It's also about keeping others safe. Y'know, social responsibility. Perhaps an utterly alien concept to you.
4. Yes, you can "take your own risk." But unless and until you can do so
while confining that risk to yourself alone, then it's an act of extreme selfishness: imposing risk on others.
5. And yeah, yeah, yeah, I've heard enough bellowing about people's PRESHUS FREEDUMB to make me vomit.
