Circa is opening on Wed Oct 28th at 12:01 AM. I'll be in town and want to take a look at the place.

I'm thinking of attending the midnight opening. I can handle busy but I don't want to be there if it's shoulder to shoulder packed.

Any thoughts on how crazy the opening is going to be?
Is the whole town pumped for this or is it going to take until Friday for the crowds to show up?

I don't think it's going to be incredibly packed opening night but you never know

I was just in Vegas last Wed-Sat and it was substantially more packed than I thought it was going to be on weekdays. I'd expect a decent crowd.

I just have a feeling it's going to end up being a flop. I feel like they are expecting all these big spenders or are expecting to be stealing all these usual strip customers and i'm just not really seeing it. Hope i'm wrong but i guess we'll see... Palms pool club Kaos part 2 lol???

^Not a good sign for them if the Encore is now closed on most days.

I think their expectations are real which is why they are only opening the first 5 floors of gaming/hotel Oct 28th and only like 400 out of 700 rooms or so in Jan. They are the victim of probably the worst timing on a new casino/resort since the Fountainbleu and whatever that Monstrosity was going to be at the place of the old StarDust/New Frontier area. With everything focusing on the indoor sports book and outdoor sports/pool/amphitheater I do see this as being somewhat of a destination spot for certain people (i.e Sports Betters and New'er Money who doesn't enjoy a stuffy crowd). Sad it doesn't have a poker room but if WSOP ever gets back to "normal" I sure as **** wouldn't mind paying to stay there for a week or two and degen a little bit on some table games/video poker and cross the street to the Nugget for some late night Poker action to feed that late night MTT bustout drunken tilt.

O/U on # of "Regular" and Unique Players using that 25k plaque at Circa in 2021 is 9.5 sadly which is a small fraction compared to the strip properties that is probably around 100 who have big enough credit lines to sustain that type of betting but as I said I don't think they are going to target the dead old money crowd.

Echelon Place?

With MLB about to end and NBA/NHL not starting before next year, it’s also not the best timing for a sports book. But at least they should have decent weekend business with all of college football back and the NFL.

To see if opening right now is a good idea or not we’d need to know how much not opening would cost them. The Fremont location is a huge gamble anyway, would be cool to see a luxury property have success over there.

You might be surprised at how many high rollers go there. It's a pretty sweet set up with the pool and giant TV out there and the biggest sportsbook in the world and their app already has higher limits than any other in NV so they may cater to high rollers at table games much more. We will see. But it certainly won't be a flop.

Last year during the summer I was downtown and spent most of my mornings in the small Circa book in the Golden Gate, checking lines and placing bets on MLB. Derek seems to have a fleet of limos and a decent network of smallish high rollers. He had guys he was constantly driving in to put entries in there NFL contest. Similar to this I know of a lot of mid-tier players that stay on the strip but will get limo rides from the strip to The D to spend an afternoon in The D, “high limit” area.

I could easily see him poaching players in this matter for a half day just to mix it up Downtown at Circa betting sports at the pool and feeling like a high roller in the table games area.

Nothing like this anywhere and the biggest sportsbook in the world. Will have the .99 Shrimp cocktail daily, regular like $12 but only 3am to 5am. Get the late night drunks in for .99 shrimp and blow $100's in the pit. lol

They claim it’s the biggest sportsbook in the world in cubic feet. No idea what’s the largest in square feet but I don’t think Circa would add the cubic feet note to its advertisement if it also was #1 in sqft?

Pretty sure sports betting suffers less from the absence of international high rollers than table games like Baccarat though.

Assume it’s got to be The Westgate?

I was just down there last Saturday getting my favorite Saimen in the California and there was no way the place looked finished.... there was still scaffolding all around and the valet area wasnt even paved yet. The sidewalks are all blocked... Maybe it's like a soft opening.

There is parking across main st, and it's called 'garage Mahal.

Anyone know if they are planning poker?

Obligatory Saimen shot...

Those sports have lost a ton of fans. Many casinos might be getting rid of their sports books, especially now that some states have legalized sports betting.

Please name any Vegas casino that is getting rid of their book? Even TI crappy book remodeled. And the new Virgin opening early next year will have a brand new book using Betfred. Then Resorts World next year will have another unique book.

There have been a few that sold out to William Hill but that is not getting rid of the book.

Also as far as sports to bet, yes College and Pro football will be big thru the end of year of course but College Basketball is starting around Thanksgiving I believe and it looks like NBA around Christmas or before.

no racebook it would appear, booooo

ofc with all of the disgusting nasty degenerate regular horse players that camp out at other places (suncoast, red rock, etc.) that's probably better appearance-wise.
