So, I’ve never done a TR before. I had my original thread in which I tried to make it as a pro, but after a year of grinding I realized I’m not good enough to do this for a living after all. Most know me from my security thread, Tales of the Night Shift, which I really enjoyed writing. Getting to experience* Vegas as a hotel employee instead of a guest definitely gave me a different viewpoint on things.

When it was all said and done, I headed back to Florida to take care of some family obligations and this will be my first trip back since I left in May of last year. I miss the hell out of Vegas. That city was tailor made for me. But what I’m most excited about is being able to reconnect with all the faces I haven’t seen since I’ve left.

So this will be a joint TR. A couple of us have an ongoing group chat where we talk about everything from poker, life, relationships, work advice, and everything in between. A few months back we started discussing meeting up in Vegas, and that time is finally upon us.

Everyone will be contributing* to this TR and we’re hoping it’s gonna be awesome. Lot of pics upcoming with copious amounts of degening, alcohol, and totally not acting our age. Let’s give you all some background on the players involved.

Tipdrill*aka Matt – Coming all the way from upstate NY, Matt is the shortest member of the group. But what he lacks in height he makes up for in poker prowess. Formerly a semi-competitive eater, he once put away 18 cans of Chef Boyardees mini ravioli in a single sitting. Most likely of the group to die of alcohol poisoning due to low body weight. I believe Matt is mainly a 2/5 player and definite craps degen. Should also be a prime player for some pool party action.

Jstarda9*aka John – More than likely an illegal immigrant, John lives in LA and is no stranger to crazy poker games, having once battled Mimi Tran headsup at the Commerce for 8 hours. John is a serious foodie and probably the most knowledgeable beer connoisseur . Once had a prime cut of filet mignon spoil because he spent too much time taking pictures of it, and not enough time eating it.

John’s game of choice is also 2/5 and should also be a visible* figure at the craps table, where he usually has an entire corner to himself due to his propensity to sweat profusely when standing for more than 7 minutes at a time.

ThousandTigers*aka Chris – Our resident financial guru, Chris is basically Rain Man, minus the social awkwardness. A 4/8 limit grinder, he’s a machine at the tables and also a serious foodie. He is the man to ask if you need a recommendation for an LA restaurant. Also voting Chris most likely to pass out at a slot machine at 3am after going* missing* from the group.

Amusedlol*aka Ivin – Already has his own TR going but figure he’ll be an active participant here. Little known fact about Ivin, in addition to betting the come uncontrollably at the craps table, trying to double down on pai gow, and asking dealers to guess his age, he’s also huge karaoke singer. But since he’s Asian, he butchers the L’s about 100% of the time. Will probably spend a good portion of this trip playing tournaments and slaying the 2/5 cash games. As evidenced by his other thread, you can see he is also a huge foodie. I predict a ton of sushi pics, especially with the upcoming dinner at Kabuto.

HenrySugar*aka J – Gonna keep this short and sweet. J likes to keep a low profile. Speaks Russian, so naturally I assume he has ties to the KGB. That’s all.

Also plan on running into other major LVL players, including TNCJ, Elliot, LAG, MSchu, and everyone else who winds up being in town. Feel free to post in this joint TR. Only requirement is needs to be pic* heavy.

We have a lot of things planned, including running the Strip for a workout, lots of drinking, pool parties, food gorging and all around shenanigans. We’re also having a 2+2 table on Thursday night, location TBD.

So I have to be honest, when my girl saw the 10k I got yelled at, so now I'm only bringing 5k.

Run bad has started early this trip. Leaving Orlando I get told the wrong gate, hop on the tram, and I'm in the wrong terminal. So I have to backtrack and clear security again, and right as I'm clearing it, southwest sends me a text notification that my flight got moved from 8pm to 935.

Crashing with a friend tonight in Summerlin, then the Orleans for two night followed by 2 night at Linq sharing a bunk bed with Jstarda.

To be fair, I get that Kia has gotten a bad rap the past few years, but I like my Optima Sx more than my previous G37 6MT actually.
It's fully loaded, and even got the air conditioned seats. A must have for Florida summers.
