I’ve seen him so often he has to be. He used to be at Wynn and only at the Wynn all the time. When they raised the rake and opened up the new room at Encore, I never saw him there anymore and instead saw him playing 1-2 in places like Mirage, MGM and Flamingo. Don’t know where he plays now.

I'm really disappointed that this became mainly a thread about Ice. There are so many great Vegas poker room characters.

Seriously people, stop posting in this thread if all you have is a lame Ice story.

You know who is an amazing poker player and whether he likes the notoriety or not as a true Vegas Character.

Our very own squidface.

Winning player. One of the coolest dudes you will ever meet. Been there, done everything. Card counting, high stakes poker, para gliding (wtf-lol). Has a way with the women with his long locks, cutely pie face, and all round genuineness.

Great dad!

And graces us with his presence on this forum. We are lucky to have him!

I remember somebody putting in a trip report/blog a few years back. Younger Asian women went to Cornell had some type of management consulting job. I think she was in NY and played a lot tourneys and $2/$5 at Borgata. She was in town for WSOP and I think was playing a lot of $2/$5 at the Venetian. She starts talking about this clown at the game buffed out, metal band shirt long hair. She seems to dismiss him at first but by the end of the trip he totally owns her at the table. NorCalJew posts that she’s met Squidface. I think Squid is why she doesn’t seem to play seriously anymore.

So in other words, he is most likely a pro? Anyone else know?

While he's not a player, Davor, the dealer at Planet Hollywood is my favorite person in Vegas. Always hilarious, always in a great mood, keeps every game running smooth and doesn't take crap from the miserable, toxic, locals.

Top class gent.

I remember playing poker with Orel Hershiser a few years back. He was very friendly and great to play with.

He was also nice enough to let me take a pic of his 1988 World Series Ring. He pitched two wins including game 5 in that series and was named the MVP to lead the Dodgers to a 4-1 series win over the Athletics. I hope he gets in to the Hall of Fame this year.

Didn’t he leave Vegas? Or am I wrong about that?

I recall years ago someone asked me what he did for a living and i heard him say something like some business but i don't recall.
I doubt he will admit he is a pro at the table after trying to convince people he isn’t with his act.

I vaguely remember this as well. IIRC she got off to a pretty good start and then Squid just crushed her multiple sessions in a row and that was kinda the end of that. Didn't she have a Cardplayer blog too?

Would like to thank RR for the kind words.

Not only did I leave vegas but I cut my hair as well. I currently live on a 500 acre ranch in central Florida.

I have played extensively with Orel H. He is an incredibly nice thoughtful person. He takes poker seriously and I am certain he is a winning 2/5 player.

Dave Navarro (geetar 4 Janes addiction) Also quite nice at the poker table. Although only buys in for 200 at 2/5.

Jose Canseco - Lmao Dude is a piece of work

Brad Garret (Dude from every 1 loves raymon)- Had the pleasure of playing with him a few times. Did not give a rats ass about money period. He was there to blow off some steam and hold court. He is obviously great for the game but is also a true showman. Its funny when you hear about people with that x factor. He has it big time.

Jamie Gold - complete and total goofball. There was a boxer there who had won some big fight. JG sidled up to him and tried to convince the boxer to buy his coaching at some ridic price claiming it would pay off instantly etc.

Does anyone know much about that Jacky guy i spoke about earlier? I checked 2p2 and apparently there was even a thread about him a long time ago in the high stakes thread forum that said he played ultra high stakes in macao etc.

What also was confusing was did he only play at the wynn or something? Because back then, wasn't the 10/20nl uncap at bellagio the biggest game going? Did he play that? I was confused why people said he only played at wynn etc.

I’m not sure which time frame you’re talking about but generally speaking the high-stakes games at Bellagio have died out over the last ten years except for Bobby’s Room and WSOP time. Early in the decade the 25/50+ high stakes area was frequently used and they had a 10/20/40 game on the regular floor. These days 5/10 is often the biggest regular NL game in town. So there might have been a time period in between where 10/20 was the biggest frequently going game in town.

I meant around fall 2012 or so when i was there.

I also recalled back then at wynn after the WSOP, sometimes they had a 10/20/40 or 20/40 at wynn. I remember looking at the table which was at the top section and all those guys that played there... they all were much older guys like in their 40s or 50s at the absolute minimum. I don't think there was more than 1 young guy max. I recall it was only a few players and i thought... why are there no young high stakes players at this 20/40 wynn game etc? Could it have been a private game? Or did they not do that at the wynn?

That's cool. What level game was it? I lived in L.A. in the late 80's and I will never forget the Kirk Gibson homer in Game 1.

Pretty sure this guy was at the Wynn this summer, without the long beard. Such an amazingly fast dealer, never seen anything like it.

Maybe.

But you may be thinking of the guy that used to deal at the MGM who was well known to regs as the fastest dealer in Vegas. He was extraordinarily fast with few mistakes.

I remember folks saying that a few of the guys from Boyz 2 Men use to play $2/$5 at the Mirage I think where they had a residency a few years back. Also heard of people playing with Lou Diamond Phillips.

Any good Jose Canseco stories?

I know you weren’t asking me, but yeah. I’ve played with him a few times in LA, years ago.

1. If people asked if he was Jose Canseco he would claim to be his identical twin Ozzie

2. He told me that Rickey Henderson is three years older than everyone thinks he is

3. He was terrrrrrible at poker. I was at a cash table with his girlfriend while he was in a tourney. He shows up during the break to ***** about whatever bad beat or cooler happened. He would then leave and his GF would badmouth his poker skills behind his back: “eventually he has to figure out he’s bad at this, right?” She was awesome.

Im curious but does Daniel N play at bellagio much anymore? Is there there quite often?

Also i always was curious but those guys who play the regular 10/20nl there, i assume its almost all regs right?

I recalled they had 20/40 and 40/80 limit holdem and lot of those ppl look like regs.

Cool I was asking anyone really. Hopefully he’s gotten better over the years, he seems to play a lot.

Was hoping someone was in the tourney where his finger fell off.
