That's pretty awesome
Wish more pros "got it"
Even plo is getting bad with all of these euro nits having the personality of a rock, tanking when they finally play a hand after catching up on Netflix

2. How much is a good buyin amount 20 big blinds?

3. And for the 40/80 what games HORSE, 2/7 baducy any others.

Thanks guys

It was this today and yesterday

Super stud 8
2-7 drawmaha
Badacey A-5

Dramaha
2-7 TD low ball
Double board Omaha hi
Badeucy 2-7

a rack or two is fine

There is a 20 O8 that has been going

Actually no wonder because nearly no rec is waiting 2+ hours for a seat.

It's my first time in Vegas and I hope it's gonna get better.
I mean if you're expecting a ton of rec players in a 5/10 game, then you're gonna have a bad time.

Yes when I stopped by Bellagio the other day the cheapest mix game I saw was 40-80 which is a little high for me.

LVL 20 mix game anyone?

It's actually pretty normal having 3-4 recs on a 5/10 table. I arrived in LA 2 weeks ago and was playing the hole week at commerce and bicycle. These games were way softer than what I am experiencing in Vegas right now. Just see tons of grinders all over the place. 2/5 is not much different but obv a bit softer.
It's not unbeatable but just unexpected for me as a first timer at this place.

My WSOP quick review of rooms I played at:

Bellagio 2/5: Games were soft and good. The 100bb cap really allows you to play aggressively and push edges without experiencing max variance. Floor isn't running the games very efficiently, seats would stay open 15-30 minutes at a time when 100+ were on waiting lists. Chip runners almost non-existent.

Flamingo 2/5: Games were soft. No good pros. Lots of guys willing to call off light. Games stay filled constantly and floor staff friendly and work hard. Room is heavily filled with cigarette smoke.

Caesars 2/5: Nitty. Got lucky that two drunk guys walked into my game and dumped a few thousand over about an hour, otherwise the rest of the ~15 hours I played there over about 6 tables was horrible. Hard to avoid the $2/hr and 34/hr tier credits though. Floor keeps the games constantly filled and does a good job. Chip runner service spotty but better than most big rooms.

Venetian 2/5: Bad games. Lots of pros. Not really sure why so many pros play there when Wynn is so close by and has better comps/service. Floors are friendly but they don't have nearly enough staff. I waited 15 minutes in a line just to put my name on the list. Room feels like it was super nice 10 years ago but hasn't been updated at all since then. TV's with horrible picture quality, spotty chip runner service.

LA games in general are a lot softer then Vegas.

During WSOP games are hit or miss. There are a lot of good games going on, just have to find them.

Nice follow up. Did you happen to get a feel for the plo games while in Vegas?

Which makes a lot of sense given how expensive it is to live in Southern California and thus you are more likely to have successful (from their careers) people than low stakes grinders that need to keep expenses down.

The WSOP cash game area is a mess (didn't play in Kings).

Played 20/40 Omaha 8/b for about 2 hours and here were my experiences:

-Players playing with a lot of $25 and $100 chips because of cage lines

-Cage line was >20 minutes at one point, and >10 minutes for quite a bit

-When I cashed out, luckily a new player had recently bought in for just $100 and $25 chips so I sold him and another most of my reds and took my chips to the main Rio cage on my way out

-Issues are slow to be resolved, we had a shortage of $1 chips in the rack and the dealer was correctly worried about us not having chips for rake and he had called for a fill after basically every hand.

-Dealers are in a no-win situation. Guy at table is very experienced but likes to be in control of game 100%. Every table in WSOP area except for cash games is hand shuffle. One dealer kept forgetting to use the auto-shuffler and this guy would get more and more agitated about it.

-Also inconsistent floors make things like do we break the odd chip or just give it to high hand. We were giving it to high hand every down except one dealer who stood his ground saying he was very clearly told to break it down. Whether he was correct or not that this was for the O/8 game and not just a NLH game, I was happy he stood his ground to Mr. you know who.

-Chairs look nice but weren't that comfortable especially since there wasn't a foot rest under the chair or the table. I realized I was making an indention on my foot from my other shoe like 3-4 times in the 2 hours I was there and still couldn't find a pose that was more comfortable for me.

I probably have more, like the whack get a card for the table when you get called to a game. 90% of the people then walk that card to the table, then return to get chips (right next to where they got the card), wasting a good minute or two. And our friend above was freaking out everytime there was a name on the list and we weren't getting a warm body.

This is my first WSOP. I came here to check it out in general, but also to play cash.

Impressions:

- Bellagio is surprisingly poorly run. Floor doesn't seem to follow when people ask for table changes, things are forgotten, slow in general, tables of all stakes are randomly stationed all around the room instead of being in general visinity. Tables are too damn close to each other to walk in and out. Packed like sardines.

- pretty neat to see jungleman playing in Bobbys room.

- I am here 3 days and I already spotted 7 strong regs from my local casino. WSOP is the strong poker pro convention.

- Out of the 3 5/10 I played, one was very soft and the other two were full of strong pros.

- Rio games are slow. Most dealers were ok, but one simply did not know what is going on. He was even forgetting to rake.

- Driving around town, Vegas seems like a pretty depressing place to live. Poverty, druggies, beggars, sketchy people everywhere. It is beautiful outside of the city, though.

- i like to get something for my money. The strip is not good value for what you get.

So, if the cash games suck at Rio, Bellagio, Venetian, where do you guys suggest going for good 1/3 or 2/5 games? I was thinking the Nugget, but that's a haul. Any underrated cash games on the strip?

I am happy to report that for my recent trip I played 0 hands of NL Hold'em except during the 8 game tourney I played. I also did this while playing at 5 different venues.

Games played:
Orleans: $400 8 game tourney
Rio: 20/40 Omaha 8/b
Bellagio: 20/40 and 40/80 LHE
Wynn: 1/2 PLO
Planet Hollywood: 2/5 PLO

During the WSOP, if you want to play low NLH, you have every cardroom to choose from. Move around and have fun, nobody can tell you where to go because each game is very dependent on who is in it. Amazing games can break out anywhere.

WSOP / Rio question:

What's the indoor temperature like so far this summer? I know some years it's borderline freezing with the A/C on blast.

Thanks

It wasn't from a lack of interest. The list was 80-100 deep until tables broke from the tournament and they could start more games.

I was there and am well aware of the interest. I am glad they favored the PLO games and lower NL as everywhere has 1/3

I wish Bellagio would do that

Pretty amazing. For as LAG as I play LHE, I am uber nit at PLO since I am not good at it. I turned $500 into just under $3k in 3 hours or so.

It's usually cold. To what degree varies wildly. I usually wear a long sleeved shirt and a sweater.

From my experience (not this year) it will vary wildly, often even at the same table. Just be prepared for microclimates.
