I'm in Vegas for my fourth time in June, but for the first time during the WSOP.

In previous years I've never once struggled to hop right in to a $1-3 or $2-5 game. I'm usually seated within minutes or instantly.

A ton of my friends who went to the WSOP the last two years have told me how difficult it is to get a seat in these games during the WSOP. Is that the case?

They've said in some casinos you're waiting hours just to get a seat. The lists are 30+ long etc.

Is this real or is it not as bad as they make out?

I have been in Vegas during last 11 WSOP. Only year when it was really difficult to find a seat in cash games was when first Colossus was held.

Bravo is your friend. During afternoon/evening it might be really difficult to find a seat in places like Aria or Bellagio but as you know there are plenty of Poker Rooms to check.

I agree. In 2015 the longest list I ever saw was at venetian with 136 names on it by 26 tabels 1/3. In 2017 it was easier in all Rooms. A good decision is to check Bravo Poker and to get on the list by call before going to the Poker Room you want to play after 4 pm an later.

It depends on the day/time/casino. During peak hours in the evening, especially on weekends, the big cash rooms usually have long waiting lists (Bellagio/Aria/etc.)

It's not "difficult" to get a seat, you just sign up and wait. It's not bad compared to where I used to live in NorCal where a list 30 long for 4 tables was a weekly occurrence.

Really depends on what weekend or week of the WSOP you’re in town. If you’re there during one of the gimmicky events, or the main then the lists will be massive at a lot of places. But if you’re there on a weekend with no gimmicky events in the middle of the series it won’t be too bad.

Call ahead and get your name on the list and then go get lunch or whatever and it really doesn’t turn out to be that bad. Or go to a second or third tier casino and you’ll never have the same huge waits that you’ll have at Bellagio, Aria, etc

Do not forget about the cash games going on at the WSOP itself (not the regular dinky room at The Rio but rather the WSOP itself). Tons of tables at lower stakes, although there are times where even those will have a waiting list. The level of play tended to make for many chips moving around but with players who were horribad.

The rooms like Aria and Bellagio are generally good about taking a number and paging you when your name has risen to the top of the list. Usually they will give five to ten minutes to get there. Not good if you are at the end of the Strip, but great if you are just wandering on the property itself.

If you don’t want to end up on a wait list 100+ deep, don’t show up at Bellagio or Aria past noon on Friday to Sunday.

Other than that, it’s usually not too bad.

when floor calls joe blow for 1/3, joe blow for 1/3, final call joe blow for 1/3

its obvious hes not there so you put your hand up and become joe blow and youve got yourself a seat without a 2 hour+ wait

so many people during wsop and floors rushed off their feet no one knows whats going on.

You can’t put your name on the lists through bravo. You need to either call in or go to the poker room to do that

You check the Bravo app for the waiting list at any given property and if it seems reasonable then you call them on your phone, the number is listed on Bravo by every poker room, and get your name on the list.

During the recent March Madness (rounds of 64 and 32), it was a two hour wait to get into the Bellagio 2-5 no-limit game in the afternoon.

During the WSOP, the waiting lists are about the same.

Do most of the bigger rooms still give 1 hour to show up after a call in or do they extend your time without getting further down your original call in slot?

My experience in the past few trips has been roughly 10-15 minutes from the point they text you that a seat exists for you. After that, the next name on the list will be called. This was both Aria and Bellagio for existing games.

I do not know if they extend it for games that are being started since the $5-10 games kicked off while I was already on-site...

They are asking how long you have to check in after putting your name on the list. Yes, 1 hour usually. I know Aria would switch to two hours during WSOP.

Aria 1-3 and 2-5 usually has 30-40 names on the list when it's busy and maybe 5 or 6 tables of each running so if you just show up it can take a while to get a seat. Always call in ahead of time.

To sorta answer my own question from earlier, they drop $1 after 10 dollars is in the pot.
