My market has three casinos with poker rooms.
Last year, the room with the most traffic raised rake to $6. While the other two rooms kept theirs at $5.
The PLO and $20/40 players threatened to move their games to a different casino. The poker room lowered their rake back to $5, but kept the NLHE rake at $6. The NLHE players moved en masse to the other rooms. That casino lowered their rake back to $5 after 3 or 4 months. But the players didn't come back. They took in $660,000 less in rake compared to the prior year due to loss of traffic.
