One of my great laments was never playing that O'Shea's game...and I'm not sure why I never did because I always had the goal to play in as many poker rooms as possible back in the salad days of all-poker-all-the-time.
Osheas was a drunken **** show of a game. It was truly glorious.
I played $0.50/$1.00 at Bill's Gambling Hall (!) - which I believe is now The Cromwell - back in 2011 during my first ever poker trip to Vegas. I bought in for $200, which was the max, and the entire table looked at me like I was this crazy high roller. Most sat with stacks between $40-$100 if I remember correctly, and game was obviously super nitty. Which at the time suited me well.
(who am I kidding, I am still only able to beat super passive games even now)
I didn't know who he was at the time, but now remember that it was quite a spectacle to see TBC blowing up after every beat he took when I sat with him in the .5/1 game at Bill's in 07'
Fun fact: It's been over 10 years since the Linq Promenade opened with the new O'Sheas. I think the rest of the property rebranded from Quad to Linq at some point in 2014.
Will never forget when a dealer asked me where my accent came from and I told him I was originally from Germany. Then he told me that they celebrated Hitler's birthday in the hotel back in the day. At that time, in the early smartphone days you weren't allowed to use your phone at most poker rooms. So I had to get up to look it up on the internet.
The owner of the IP was a huge Nazi. He had a big car collection, but his prized pieces were Nazi cars. It was always rumored he had a huge Nazi war memorabilia collection; Plates Hitler ate off of and stuff like that.
When it rains hard if you got to the parking garage you see at its core it's still the IP.
Everyone who has ever been to Vegas has at one time or another smelled that horrible sewer smell on occasion. It comes from how they collect every drop of water they can in order to preserve Lake Mead.
That smell seems to be a permanent fixture in the IP/Linq
You never know what you're going to get for action in Vegas during 'slow' times. I would assume Cesars will be much better than The Orleans game but I have heard stories of a large number of Regs who sit around Cesars collecting comps.
The one thing about Vegas is that you really have to be flexible and table select. A game may be great and then falls apart when two Players leave .. that's your sign to look at the options elsewhere in the room or other venues. I rarely hear about 'great' long sessions unless it was at one of the larger rooms.
With NCAA going on some of those weekends will be very busy .. perhaps not so much during the week. GL

There is Lake Harrah's at the back of the parking garage when it rains...
Red Rock, Santa Fe, and Boulder Station all raised rake on April 1 to $6 + $2. It seems like a matter of time before MGM and others follow suit. I would guess before WSOP or June 1.
Sad state of affairs. Vegas used to be the most reasonable rake in the country, now it is as bad or worse than most places. At least Bellagio and Wynn don’t do promos and have five max rake and good action. In Maryland the rake at most places is 5 plus 3 promo (3 promo is bad, at least they have good promos often and give it back but I’d rather it not exist). I do my best to only play time games or non jackpot games like plo or five card.
