The owner of the IP was a huge Nazi. He had a big car collection, but his prized pieces were Nazi cars. It was always rumored he had a huge Nazi war memorabilia collection; Plates Hitler ate off of and stuff like that.

Everyone who has ever been to Vegas has at one time or another smelled that horrible sewer smell on occasion. It comes from how they collect every drop of water they can in order to preserve Lake Mead.

That smell seems to be a permanent fixture in the IP/Linq

You never know what you're going to get for action in Vegas during 'slow' times. I would assume Cesars will be much better than The Orleans game but I have heard stories of a large number of Regs who sit around Cesars collecting comps.

The one thing about Vegas is that you really have to be flexible and table select. A game may be great and then falls apart when two Players leave .. that's your sign to look at the options elsewhere in the room or other venues. I rarely hear about 'great' long sessions unless it was at one of the larger rooms.

With NCAA going on some of those weekends will be very busy .. perhaps not so much during the week. GL

Red Rock, Santa Fe, and Boulder Station all raised rake on April 1 to $6 + $2. It seems like a matter of time before MGM and others follow suit. I would guess before WSOP or June 1.

The start of the WSOP season seems like the traditional time to raise the rake on the strip.

Sad state of affairs. Vegas used to be the most reasonable rake in the country, now it is as bad or worse than most places. At least Bellagio and Wynn don’t do promos and have five max rake and good action. In Maryland the rake at most places is 5 plus 3 promo (3 promo is bad, at least they have good promos often and give it back but I’d rather it not exist). I do my best to only play time games or non jackpot games like plo or five card.

Why do people insist on continuing to play at Horseshoe and Caesars Palace and pay the highest rake in Vegas? Every trip report I read on here shows the OP playing in these rooms.

Why let them get away with increasing the rake when no other strip properties have? If everyone boycotted them they would be forced to lower it back down.

There's a minimum rake you need to stay in business. Other rooms are trying to fight this but they'll all eventually raise theirs too. You can't keep paying your employees minimum wage when your city doesn't have minimum wage living arrangements.

Maybe the majority of players are less rake sensitive than you are.

If you asked tourists entering the Horseshoe poker room what the max rake was, how many do you think would know?

You're talking about the Vegas strip where people play 6/5 BJ triple zero roulette and 50 dollar a night "resort fees".

While 'probably' not obligated to do so, most people feel it's necessary to play at the facility that 'probably' gave them some room comps or reduced rates or free play or some other form of incentive to travel to their properties.

I tend to agree that a lot of Recs may not be aware of how rake impacts the game long term. Most only care that there are or are not promos ongoing but gloss over how those are funded.

The majority of home games in our area charge $10, but provide 'any' food or drink that a Player may want .. and believe me, some of the requests are both laughable and presumptuous of their status in the game. Players don't really want to pay that, but when it's the 'only' game they want to play in at that time/day then it is what it is .. the American way of supply and demand. GL
