Better in what context?

Like you can park there for free and get free stuff? I think dth meant that he couldn't see any reason for a casual tourist to intentionally seek out CET properties.

Right. For locals, whatever.

I go to Vegas 4-5 times a year. Caesars offers absolutely nothing to me. The rooms are average yet expensive. The food options are entirely forgettable. The poker room is pure meh. I guess the buffet is good? I've just always come away thinking everything was 20% too expensive and nothing about the property was memorable.

I think I'm locked in to Wynncore for good now. It's expensive but relative to what you pay for similar quality in other cities, really not too bad. And their poker room is awesome.

My favorite Italian place ever is in Caesers. So that’s one reason I go there. Also I like the shopping.

Do you mean Rao's? If so, meh

I just spent last week staying at Caesars (for a convention- not my choice). Really the only thing they do better than MGM properties at this point is better free booze, since MGM PGP'd that out. Wynncore/Venetian still better than both.

Carmine’s is the Italian place I love.

Aria will still serve me Goose and lemonade when I’m gambling or playing poker.

Doesn’t really matter anyway. The book “Stop Acting Rich” by Thomas Stanley has a nice piece about Grey Goose that concludes the brand is 100% marketing that targets Americans who want to act rich, nothing else. When they started the business in the late 90s they specifically picked France to produce it because people in the US associate that with premium quality and to differentiate themselves from ‘cheap’ Eastern European vodka.

Sure it matters. Grey Goose is made with a special kind of soft french wheat using a charcoal filtration process which is why it tastes better than crappy brands like Smirnoff. Personally I prefer Ciroc which is made from grapes, but I make sure I'm getting one or the other when I order Vodka in Vegas. Some of the house stuff is nasty.

I still remember from 25 years ago when I worked for the USDA...the official government definition of vodka included the phrase "a colorless, tasteless alcohol"...

Same here. I am a light drinker and usually only drink in Vegas. With kettle one I won’t have a headache the next day. I can’t say the same for cheap/house vodkas. I rather not drink them if they are the only option.

However a few times I specifically ordered kettle one and it didn’t have the same taste as what I have at home. They may still give cheap vodka thinking people won’t know the difference even when you specifically ask for a brand.

I wonder how common that is.

Vodka is by definition alcohol + water.

Premium Vodka is by definition alcohol + water

Cheap Vodka is by definition alcohol + water

Partially correct. Grey Goose is five column distilled over limestone, not charcoal, and one of the first vodkas to use limestone for filtration. Some people claim charcoal filtered vodkas are more prone to producing hangovers.

And did you know—Jaegermeister girls working for Sydney Frank Importing introduced Grey Goose to the US in the late 90’s? Grey Goose also had flavored cherries (lemon, lime, cherry and cassis) since this was pre-flavored vodka...and they paid well

Thanks for the explanation.

And to end the derail- no matter what Vodka you're drinking, Caesars paid parking still sucks.
