Westgate also is putting gates up.
How everyone is shocked about all this surprises me. Long time coming.
Next is Wynn/Encore, Tropicana, Stratosphere.
Does Polo Towers have a garage? Cause they'll start charging to keep away nearby casino nits that are trying to save $10

Does anyone still go to Westgate other than convention goers?

But I thought Stratosphere is trying to bring back old Vegas?

Stratosphere? Who even goes there anymore? SLS is nearby and tends to be pretty empty so lol if they start charging.

Polo Towers has a garage, and a lot, but you need a parking permit or risk getting towed.

Long time coming? Geeze. No wonder they think they can get a away with it. That attitude only encourages them.

Just because the past belongs to them doesn't mean the future does.

Vegas is a publicly traded stock now. It answers to shareholders in suits and bean counters in grey cubes. Gone are the days where the pit boss would greet you by name and give you a few extra comps - you're now DIA-008675309 to them and your action is worth exactly $12.56.

Welcome to the future.

I'll just get my wife to drop me off rather than incur the parking fee...it just rubs me the wrong way...another straw I guess.

It's corporate America. All the casinos now are. It started with resort fees and every year raising them. You didn't think parking was gonna be next?

And LOL at whoever says "who goes to stratosphere"

Same question can go to who goes to Luxor, Excalibur, Ballys, Tropicana. Lower budget resorts, everyone does sir, everyone.

All those other places are surrounded by MGM/Caesars properties that also charge for parking. Stratosphere is almost on an island. Okay SLS is nearby. But that place tends to be pretty empty.

I was at Tropicana few weeks ago on a Saturday with an out of town friend, and it was empty. So was Hooters.
Took a walk to Luxor and Excalibur and there wasn't much happening either.

You got SLS around the corner and Lucky Dragon around the corner also. Few blocks and you're downtown.
Takes just as long to walk from Tropicana to say Bellagio

For all those saying MGM would get hurt by parking, their Q1 numbers were quite good.

Also worth noting that Harrah's CEO is having his pay docked for being too slow to monetize parking.

Harrah's/Caesar's CEO should have his pay docked for a lot more than just being slow to monetize parking.

Four Queens - no resort fee, free parking, save on cigarettes because the smell of the nicotine caked to the wall will suffice, what's not to love?

Was being sarcastic about the parking, although his total rewards (zing) got dinged by 25%.

I bet CET caving to paid parking helped. I still avoid MGM every chance I get because they initiated this garbage.

Do they check ID when using a diamond card for free parking or do you just swipe your card through a machine?

No ID check that I've seen. I'm pretty sure they probably limit each card to one car in a lot at a time.

Absolutely can swipe without showing an ID. Can swipe before entering or before leaving though , (just grab a ticket if you wanna do it after ) . I would only swipe the csrd on the way out each time if I was going to share

If you're using someone else's card for this you're going to kill their ADT because it will look like a zero-play day to the computer.

So is there any advantage in using your DL or Platinum or higher card for free parking, assuming you are Nevada resident and Platinum or above and only play poker?

Is it better to use DL or Platinum card, or does it matter?
Caesars launches paid parking Quote

I'd say it's better to use your DL. By using your TR card they know you are getting comped $10 (or whatever the fee is). It's certainly possible it doesn't matter, either because they link your DL to your account too or that they don't factor the $10 comp, but there's a non-zero chance using your TR card has a negative effect on you.

I've been using my DL exclusively, and will till they stop letting locals in for free, because I don't want to trigger a gaming day if I'm there to show friends around or do something not involving using my TR card.

I have no idea if they connect my DL to my account but it is a different license than I have on my account so not sure if their system is good enough to match name and DOB to my details on file. The address and the state or different than what they have on me.

Is there separate parking from PHo? Self-park is free at PHo for now.
