When I was there earlier in the month they ran single table satellites for "mixed draw". You may want to run over there and see if any run. That sort of thing is most popular the day before the related bracelet event.

That's a $4.99 breakfast special, IMO (M-F, holidays excluded). Maybe $12.99 in the Bay Area?

Decided late last night that the only sensible way of exorcising the demons of the day was to embrace Corona at a Mandalay Bay poker table. The waitress was attentive to my needs and two hours, 6 bottles and a break even session later, I had reached a level of peace with the poker Gods that sobriety wouldn’t have accepted.

Today is the 2-7 TD at the Rio and whilst my preparation for the big day was probably not similar to Kawhi and Steph’s, it was what I needed. Each to their own.

Just grabbing the caffeine fix right now and will shortly be heading over to the theatre or crushed dreams. Good luck to guitarist68 playing the seniors event today and good luck to everyone else risking their lives in the hallways on seniors day. For those that have not experienced the Rio on these days, it is a very dangerous day to amble those hallways wistfully. The number of speeding scooters under the control of visually impaired octogenarians makes it equivalent to playing a real life game of Frogger.

At least it'll trigger nostalgia of Kings Way trying to get into the Crown parking lot on Friday nights, both in quantity of vehicles and degree of skill in driving

So what does seniors day at the WSOP look like? Well, for you peeps that have not had the good fortune to experience it first hand, some pics.....

We’re at this thingy....

Registration

A room full of dreams

And more dreamers

Hoping to end up here

But some starting their journey in the hallway

Guitarist68 avoided the hallway and is sat in the green section of the Pavilion Room

And in amongst the seniors event is the real main event, aka la creme de la creme, aka the blue riband, aka the $1.5k Lowball 2-7 triple draw, and yours truly has a ticket to the dance

It's true that poker players can be a little gross. I took a pit stop during the MUG with the boys to find a guy freehand pissing and eating a plate of food... with a fork ...cause no-one eats in the bathroom with their fingers right?
I've been playing a while but this is the worst I've seen a poker player do. I'm sure there are worse.

I couldn't avoid the hallway at break, this is a big one with many slower movers than myself and the bathroom lines are ridiculous.
I recommend following the signs for the 'addition outside bathrooms', the queues are non-existent or small generally...and you pick up some All American Dave's on the way back in.

So far, I've been running ok in the Seniors. I've rivered a full house against what looked like straight (he didn't show after my river bet and call).
That just turned a little with this hand however..
I just had to fold a flopped a full house with 44 on a 848 flop when the 8 turn hit and there was significant action.
I not done yet though, this thing is deep and I have 1.5x starting stack.
Break now. Time to go find those additional outside toilets and then see if I can find Dunc in the 2-7.

Or Mike Matusow. But everyone is much safer than it used to be, now that Amarillo Slim and Doyle are no longer barreling up and down the hallways.

I was present when those two ran a time trial against the clock, for what must have been an absurd amount of money. Up the hall, in a section that was uphill, around a pylon, which was a trash barrel I think, then back down to the finish. Best time won. Although the scooters appeared evenly matched, Amarillo Slim had an advantage on the uphill section, weighing substantially less than Doyle. Amarillo Slim won.

I knew about those bathrooms during the Big Fitty, but it was literally impossible to get from the Pavilion down to the Amazon and back in 20 minutes. Two thirds of the masses in the hallways were stationary because they were in line either for registration or as alternates. That left one third of the original space for 5000 people trying to get somewhere other than where they were.

First break I got from Pavilion almost to the massive restroom line next to Brasilia when I turned back. Luckily I was so dehydrated that I didn't need to wee.

It's been a lot of laughs watbri, I'll try to catch you on the next break and depending on what time you get back in on Monday, I might still be around. If I don't catch you, thanks and good luck buddy.

I think they worked that out, we've had 30 minute breaks today which is different to the schedule.
...and you can cut the corner if you head to the front of the Pavilion rather than following the crowds out the main doors. This tip might not help with events like the Big 50 though.

Only a mere 15 mins break for 2-7 players. We get less break time because fewer of us have colostomy bags to empty than those in the seniors event!

We started with 10k with one hour levels. At end of level 1, my stack reflected my rungood and I had 17.8k. Level 2 has been a little more rocky and I did lose a decent chunk to Sean Deeb when he outdrew me. Got moved tables at the end of level 2 so sitting with a lot of new people after the break. I’ll be going back to 17.1k in chips

Ok ...so we might have a really great busto story here.
I haven't liked Daniel since the whole more rake sellout, shill fiasco so I know who I'm rooting for.
Go Dunc...take his ass down.

I did go out the "side" doors, and even then only made it to the hallway where the Brasilia is in 10 minutes.

Is that fixed limit? I heard they had, or used to have, a NL event too.

This is getting feisty. Matt Glantz just walked over to the table and him and Negreanu were really going at one another.

MG “You probably didn’t realise you were angleshooting”.
DN “I should probably break one of your teeth”
MG “What the **** for? You want me to expose what you did?”
DN “You stupid mother ****er. What the **** are you even doing here? **** off”.

Voices were loud, floor rushed over, Glantz escorted back to his table and things have calmed down a bit now.

22k at second break. A bit up and down that level; one big pot won and one big pot lost that I played horribly.

Blind increases will start putting people under a little more pressure soon so I’m expecting some more serious fluctuations.

In other news, Negreanu was very active early, and very chatty early, and as we are next to the rail, plenty people stop by to watch our table with him on it, as well as asking for photos. He was great with everyone other than Matusow who got a bit of the cold shoulder. He then went quiet for an hour when the basketball started as he was watching it on his iPad. He also played a lot less hands when the basketball was on

What do you think of this one? I get into a hand with Negreanu and he’s to act first. On first draw, he says “two” but throws in three cards. IMO, this was a bit of an angle and to see if I am actually watching. The number of cards you draw in 2-7 greatly influences play each round, so I did gently call it out on the next draw by saying “just looking to see how many you are ACTUALLY drawing rather than just listening to what you say”.

He also was involved in another 3 way pot when tightest player at the table bet and he said “oh, HE raised” pointing at the player. There was another player behind still to act and this is verging on influencing play IMO. Negreanu folded.

Thoughts? Reading too much into it??
