I'm not a wine drinker. Is a "corkage fee" a charge for opening a bottle of wine that you bring? If so, can you just bring your own opener and handle it?

Thanks, and exactly. Some places have smaller fees, like $20 - $40. Others have big fees like $80 (most upper scale places in Vegas). When you buy wine in a restaurant, you usually pay more than double the retail price, so if you have an $80+ bottle of wine (or even less), paying to have them open it for you is often better than paying twice what you could have paid for the wine

If only we could bring/use our own opener. I wish!

I've been to a few great not-too-fancy restaurants in NYC that have a $10 corkage fee. It's awesome!

Well, not much on the job front ....had a good interview yesterday, hope for offer on Monday

Gonna hit Vegas solo for a quick trip Sun 5/2 to Wed 5/5
Drinks, pai gow, poker , ultimate Texas and some golf on Monday with my Vegas friend Mike

Just arrived
Pretty packed here at Flamingo 🦩🦩🦩...could see most folks had masks on

They did have a separate line for Diamond, so I was able to bypass all the people (they are using a counter person but not the room they usually do for Diamond/SevenStar check in) ...easy peazy to get my room

This stay is a King executive GO room , floor 27....nice enough

I drove in this trip (7 hours), gonna rest a bit in room then likely do Ruth Chris happy hour for dinner then go play poker tonight....golfing

It was golf day today..we ended up just playing Boulder municipal...took me back to my days playing high school golf

here in Vegas for Western way back when

Course was good, greens in good shape ...windy today but weather was pretty nice ....buddy shot 77 and I had a 82

Deciding what to do tonight ....hmmmm

Decided to head to Forum shops to get my wife, our 27 yr anniversary present for Friday and Mothers Day from a favorite store she loves

Also heard of Bobby Flay opening burger place here in Caesars food court, so popped in to try it

Really good burger (I got the Bobby Blue), juicy and cooked right also some fries and a bottled pepsi...ran $27
