It's my last day in Vegas with Dunc (who's playing on). I've fired a couple of WSOP 1k's and bagged in one. I've played some other tourneys and had a deep run (15th in the PH six max). This means I have this year's US flag but it was bittersweet as I ran and played really well for the first time for a while and my final hand was for an overwhelming chip lead. Set versus rivered straight. I did good though and got it in when I was ahead and the rest was up to the poker Gods.

Today I'm playing at my favourite room before I head off and have had a little more run good. Dunc mentioned the flopped set versus his KK, I've also flopped second nut flush against third nut flush.

I'll hoping to be back next year and do better than being even(I recognise this is, in itself is an achievement). I hope to meet more awesome poker people when I do (thanks for coming out to meet up golddog).

Well I just landed back in Vegas
today and tomorrow are a work event, I'm giving a big presentation at work tomorrow
and then I'm going to spend Wed/Thursday playing poker, dice and pai gow before I head for home Thursday night

Staying at the Cosmopolitan for my work portion of the visit and switching to Planet Hollywood for one night on Wednesday
** first time for me staying at Cosmo, pretty nice room and view ** will try to do another one tonight when everything's lit up and I can see the Bellagio Fountains

Playing Monster Stack this weekend? I had tentative plans to go back out for it, but meantime, room prices have skyrocketed and I'm not sure I want to go back badly enough to get bent over by the hotels.

Not for me mate. I leave Saturday so the only other WSOP event I plan to play is tomorrow’s NLHE/PLO.

Probably gonna head up to the Golden Nugget shortly for their O8/Stud 8 tourney. Despite being in my late 40s, I should be about half the average age for that one!

Dunc, I think you were fine. As written I wondered if he meant collusion or, since he called you “buddies” and not “a team” if he just meant he thought you two could be playing any kind of hand as a battle of brinksmanship since you knew each other.

Ha after being in Vegas for that long we’ve all been there, good thing you checked. Also I think the GN tourney was Omaha Hi/O8.

Poker is a fickle game. After ripping down my pants, bending me over a barrel and abusing me in a way that would make Ron Jeremy blush, the poker Gods have decided to patch me up and give me some TLC.

In for $300 and within one and a half orbits, I have this much.....

I outlasted 1/3rd the field. However, the other 2/3rds outlasted me!

These little $600 and $800 tournaments are getting some big fields. I hope they keep doing them next year.

They are cool for people like myself who don't have a massive bankroll to play lots of $1-2k+ events, but on the other hand, they're so top-heavy that it's kind of ridiculous.

Ivey came in 64th/2808 in the $800 NLHE that's running right now and won $3,700 for his trouble. You can win a lot more than that just by FTing the nightly $400 at the Rio, which is probably going to be easier.

I feel like MTT payouts should be flatter, but others might prefer the massive prizes for the FT.

100% Agree. Not going till August, but next year I'm going during the series for one or two of these buy in spots.
