yup

seems generous to me, but what do I know

awake now, going back to MGM for some early morning poker and a coffee

hopefully now that I'm not driving 6 hours a day I'll be better able to stay awake in the evenings

Has your wife ever made one of these trips with you or does she just have no desire to come to Vegas?

Edit: Seems like a pretty good deal for her to let you run off like this for weeks.

she came with me years ago, when we were both 21, and enjoyed it but has no desire to return

I've burned a lot of husband credit with this trip, don't think there'll be another one for a good while

only one table at MGM and it was full with one on the list, so I walked up to Aria instead

guess I'm playing 1/3

BTN who's waiting for a seat in 2/5 opens to 12, I 3bet from the BB with AKo to 35, he calls

flop is Axx two spades, I bet 50, he calls

turn is a Q, I check (not sure on this, was nervous that AQ and QQ got there, but maybe I should be betting?), he bets 100, I call

river brings the 9s, goes check/check and I beat A8o

sitting on just under $600 now

talking to a very nice lady from Indiana who's here for her son's friend's wedding

yeah imma be honest and say it was more fear than a valid poker reason, I'm definitely playing a little scared given how out of practice I am

anyway, had a $25 matchplay on Blackjack through MyVegas (I stopped playing it years ago tbh but still had a few LP to burn through)

won that, tipped the dealer $5, so that's another $45 win, up $317 overall now

planning to keep it small at breakfast to leave room for bigger lunches

this is very nice, cost under $5, and had almost no queue to get it

Unless it's changed, that weird structure is a wolfgang puck restaurant (cucina???) - we ate there in 2018 and had a fab sharing starter followed by some throughly mediocre (and overpriced) mains.....

raised to 15 over a limper with KJhh, SB and limper called

flop AQxh, I bet 25, only limper calls

turn another low card, he checks, he's got $99 behind, so roughly a PSB, this looks like a weak ace or a queen

I shove, he doesn't tank for long before calling

river blanks out, and I lose to QTo

so I was right on the hand, but wrong to think he had a fold button

really need to just stop bluffing in live low stakes

got nothing going, lost a few more small ones, and cashed out down $201

not a huge fan of the room tbh (and not just because I lost) - it feels a bit more separated from the rest of the casino than the other main rooms I've played in, and that gives it a bit of a darker, grimier feel

overall up $116 now

lunch was good

at $56 including tip it seems like...fair value I guess? Not the super great deal I hear it once was, but still better than a lot of Strip pricing, and all the food was really good, particularly the dorade
